- Amanda MHolt, UK33 contributionsWhat a treasure we found. Small farm with a small selection of reds and Ports but every wine I tasted was absolutely amazing and wish I could have walked away with their Chalbert wine! A wine that is truly remarkable but unfortunately not affordable to me. I did buy a Port and a Merlot though. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and a very knowledgeable young gentleman explained the wines to us. Thank you we'll be back. 🤗Written 12 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Dewald RCape Town Central, South Africa3 234 contributionsThe Alto Wine Estate has consistently been one of my favorite wine estates to visit in Cape Town. I always enjoy their wines which include a selection of reds as well as a rosé. They offer a variety of tasting experiences, including a biltong and wine pairing that I highly recommend, however this time around we opted for the standard tasting. It included their rosé, Alto Rouge blend, shiraz, and cabernet sauvignon. The tasting experience was even better with the amazing view from the estate, which allows you to, on a clear day, even catch a glimpse of Table Mountain in the distance. I definitely recommend making a reservation, especially if you want to enjoy the stunning views. To top off our wonderful experience, our waiter, Howard, provided exceptional service and made the tasting even more memorable. If you are planning to visit, please keep in mind that they will start renovations in November 2024 that will last until mid-2027, and although you will still be able to sample their tasty wines at the next door farm, Bontehoek, you will need to wait a bit before you can experience the awesome views. Despite the upcoming renovations, Alto Wine Estate is a must-visit for any wine lover, especially those who appreciate a good red.Written 11 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 358eralds1 contributionAmazingly beautiful and well crafted original jewelry. The great experience was enhanced by the great client experience offered by the gold smith (Vincent) who provided lots of insight into his jewelry and useful advice regarding what would suit me best. - ChrisWanderingCellarAndover, MN334 contributionsThis winery is amazing. The white wines are the best. The red wines remind me very much of some of our favorites in Napa Valley. Suzanne, the sister of the 4th generation wine maker David Van Velden runs the tasting room and is very knowledgeable! The space is historic and comfortable. The air conditioning is very nice on those scorching hot days. David and his wife Nicole are incredibly welcoming. We've visited during the harvest while everyone is busy - and they still take the time to show you around and share their families history! The restaurant on the estate is highly recommended as well! A must see!Written 9 April 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sara.M3 contributionsWhat a special little boutique in the center of stellenbosch,
light cottons in stunning patterns, and some dresses, kaftans in white, black & navy, So its a good selection for all, women who enjoy bold pattern and color and those that prefer more subtle and plain colors.
being a women in my fifties & curvy, i liked that this boutique catered for that, many options, feminine, basically catering for women in all shapes and sizes! these garments are perfect for everyday wear or an occasion, by the pool or on a beach vacation. i bought a few pieces which were also a godsend for the heat i experienced in stellenbosch now in January! so fabric is so breathable!
the lady in store was also so helpful and pointed me in the right direction! thank you Pour la vie and well done!
i shall return.Written 1 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David OCape Town, South Africa7 contributionsA well-stocked grocery store in a beautiful setting on a farm, selling organic, local products (dry goods, canned goods, excellent fresh meat, cured meats, dairy, fruit and veg, and ready-made meals, treats and drinks). Everything you need for a complete grocery shopping list is there and all the food is very reasonably priced, particularly as the quality of food here is excellent. A wonderful atmosphere, and great for little children. I take my toddler often and he loves watching the horses and sitting at the outdoor tables in the garden to enjoy a snack. Highly recommend.Written 2 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
