The drivable routes inside the reserve amount to around 25 km. Most of them can be driven in a regular sedan, but some are badly eroded and a vehicle with high ground clearance is highly recommended.
There are three large granite domes in the reserve: Paarl Rock, Bretagne and Gordon's Rock. The former can be climbed by families including children, but Bretagne is too dangerous for small children unless they are tethered to adults. Gordon's Rock can only be climbed by skilled mountaineers.
There are three picnic sites in or near the reserve and the ablution facilities were neat and tidy during my visit.
You have to pay to enter on weekends and public holidays but entry is free during the week.

We had a lovely lunch - gin tasting with a cheese board. Gin was excellent, beautiful packaged. The cheese board was also nice.
    Lovely venue with friendly staff.

It is the 3rd time that I go to Backsberg for their summer concerts.
Bottomless was very good, as always...
The pre-artist was very excellent as well. i'll follow her.
My only comment I would make is regarding the time of the show indicated on the ticket (3pm), while the show really started at 4pm...
We rushed to be there on time and at the end, we had to wait for an hour...

Beautiful spot in region with many options. A spa, beer tasting, chocolate tasting etc.

I had a delicious pizza with a view like no other and the local CBC lager on tap.

    Would totally recommend

A huge amount of fruit and veg (trees and plants) that you can walk through. Some indoors, some sensory, most outdoors providing shade. Other facilities on site also plus a restaurant and cafe which provides interesting options with the local produce.

What a lovely place to visit! My Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed being in and around the Alpacas.
Great to also take the very informative guided tour, which included access to see the new born babies which were only 5 days old!
There is a small coffee shop, a weaving studio and a lovely gift shop with some beautiful Alpaca wool products for sale.
I also enjoyed the fact that it hadn't been made too commercialised.
    I would highly recommend.

Been to them 3 times now, every time was amazing. Finding the next step to the puzzle feels like a small achievement that leads up to the greater objective

Divine chocolate made with heart. The passion with which these chocolates are made, filter right through to presentation and taste. A lovely experience and a must-do when in Cape Town
