A greta collection of local producers offering an amazing array of local produce, fruits and veggies and local cheeses and preperations much as jams and chutneys, plus fresh food to consume on the spot, including fresh Oysters. A great experience.

It was a short visit, far too short, to the Gallery, I will do the tour in July on my return to Knysna.

Wow, what vibrant colours, what a variety. The paintings reflect an ideal of Africa, a simple Africa, a strong and vigorous Africa, a loving Africa.

In the back corner I was gobsmacked. Piles of tinned food, packets of flour, rice and maize meal? Peggy's support a soup kitchen, a creche. WOW, this lady and her team really share the love!!!

I cannot recommend a visit to this gallery highly enough.

A visit to this market is a must as there is a great variety of goods - lots of options for gifts and lots of places to get good from. it is relaxed but can get very full after mid December. The craft market on the other side of the petrol station has some unique stalls too

We have eaten here a few times before, and food is very nice. We always looked at the pizza section eagerly, then recently after a walk with the doggies, decided to try the pizzas.
Well, they are of the best in Knysna, you know when each bite tastes fantastic, and you cannot wait for the next, they were that good and we didnt have to add anything to enhance the flavour!!
Another bonus is that Pizzas 🍕 in Knysna are expensive, but not these Pizzas.
We are spreading the word. Go to the Gallery pizzas and relish the taste!!
Some constructive improvements would be the waiter who greets, takes an order, then does not return to check again on anything??

Interesting building and information. We started with a guide but we wanted to read everything so left the guide after about 15 minutes ( she was very good). There is a small cafe within the building too.

The African Arts and Craft Market is definitely worth a look if you are after souvenirs in Knysna. Obviously, loads of the things to buy are sold throughout the country and might even be imported - but then this is true for all the curios you buy at the "waterfront" in Knysna, too - and the things are really overpriced there. Bargaining is quite normal and one should not be shy and try to do exactly that. The location could be better - but is right off the road to Leisure Island - and the shops do not look special. People were really nice to us, we had some quite interesting conversations. They were not at all rude or tried to force us into buying anything.
    Definitely worth a look...

This is a nice area to visit and very well done architecturally as well. Nice restaurants, shops and more. Such a contrast to the city centre where there is people everywhere and a noisy environment

    Excellent experience!

My wife and I were looking to get a wedding band made while in holiday. Darryl and Anita made the process special and enjoyable.

Quick turn around time and the final band looks incredible.

    Highly recommended!

We love browsing home / lifestyle shops and Metelerkamps ticks all the boxes. With the quality products on display, you simply cannot go wrong with a visit. Service is friendly and understated. This was a fabulous experience and will be a definite stop for future visits.

Our visits exceeded our expectations by a long chalk. We experienced an unforgettable 3 hour multimedia craft course with excellent guidance from Claire of Storm Pebbles. We also met artist Helena owner of Art on Queen who was running a fun ‘ Sip and Paint’ course. We also visited a bespoke leather maker Lee who is certainly a master of her trade.

Just to appreciate the art and the friendly people. They are truly artists. Prices are good. Lots of glass jewellery that will entice you. Do take the time to go and have a look

Kirsten's passion for chocolate came through in the workshop we attended. She provided interesting information about the cocoa bean and its harvesting and processing and the way she, personally, makes chocolate. Such an enjoyable and fun experience with friends. Highly recommended.
