Great wine, great food, great location. We have visited this location several times now and the experience has never been less than 5 star.

Thought the server was robotic and as such didn’t engage with us. As such although the wine tasting experience could have been better, the pairing of the wine and chocolate was excellent

We thoroughly enjoyed our wine tasting. As a group of 4 we varied between pairings and charcuterie. Staff were excellent throughout. Excellent wines but felt the charcuterie, whilst very good, was expensive. The setting is beautiful and I would definitely recommend this experience.

Gorgeous wines in a magnificent setting. It was a cold winter day and the tasting room has a massive warm fireplace. Its an intimate space and my wife and I were the only ones there at the time. This is where we had a taste of SA's best pinot noir and one of the best chardonnays. I think its a must for visitors to the Hemel and Aarde valley.

Well worth a visit both for the wines, the people and the place itself. Highly recommend a visit if you are staying near Hermanus.

A nice place to taste wine and have a light lunch to soak up the wine. It is pet and child friendly and you can play Petangue but the focus is on wine! End up with a stroll through the maze (best in winter/ spring). great views.

Went to Bartho for lunch and tried 4 different wines. The rose Blom and especially the sauvignon blanc Houtskool are really something special. We had two huge platters of delicious food to share. Bartho explained himself the wines and the art of wine to us. A great experience!

Not that it mattered to us but wonder if wineries further along the wine route get a better rating cos customers have got into the drinking mood. Did the wine and chocolate tasting and thought both very enjoyable. Probably preferred the reds

If you are looking for a wine tasting with a great view of the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley then Newton Johnson Family Vineyards is definitely worth a visit. Their tasting area fully takes advantage of this making the tasting experience even more special. Newton Johnson is known for their Pinot Noir's, which are always good, but we got to try some of their other whites and reds as well. We even had an opportunity to try their Albariño, which is currently very unique in the South African space. The wines, though top-notch, are on the pricier side. However, the Full Stop Rock blend, a delicious blend of Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre, is a standout as it is well-priced yet still provides the same quality as the other. The staff were also accommodating and helpful, even allowing the non-drinks to order some beverages from the restaurant. Overall, you can't go wrong visiting the Newton Johnson Family Vineyards.

This was my first time to the new tasting room but I am very familiar with Seven Springs wines. Unusually it was a cold and rainy summer’s day when I visited but the welcome was very warm and friendly.
The tasting room is small and cosy, which makes it feel much more personable.
Renico took me through a tasting of their wines, explaining each of them very well.
I really recommend both of the Chardonnays, oaked and unoaked. Plus the Syrah rosé is perfect for summer.
Then we went on a tour of the cellar. Interesting to see the new barrels waiting for the grapes to be harvested.
Next door is the Onion Shed farm stall, if you are needing a light bite or coffee.
Well worth stopping by when you are visiting Hermanus and the Hemel en Aarde valley.
