- ashvparkerCape Town, South Africa6 contributionsOf course Lion's head is free, other than the energy required to get up. However if you are looking for a hike, Lion's head is by far the easiest hike the gives the best of the Cape Town mountain views. Great to do for sunset and easy to get down under moonlight.Written 19 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- CRLsrating677 contributionsThe views were amazing. It was interesting to see all the baboons, which you have to watch out for. This is a great place if you like hiking.Written 13 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- vtmpHouston, TX70 contributionsBreath taking sunset. A plus was that you got to see the night light of the city below and the table mountain silhouette. I went twice to see. Just to remind if you want to get a parking, you should got there an hour earlier so that you could pick a park and a spot to enjoy. Loved itWritten 16 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- CRLsrating677 contributionsKids always seem to love aquariums, and our kids loved this place. We wanted to try to the diving experience but they have limited time spots available. Technically, the aquarium does not have the true junction between the Atlantic and Indian Oceans.Written 13 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- CRLsrating677 contributionsThis was such an awesome and humbling experience. The ability to hear the stories from those who lived in the area was amazing and made the visit very memorable.Written 13 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- mingchi86York, UK104 contributionsSome absolutely stunning pieces, lots of interesting contemporary work. A couple of spaces were not open to the public but still lots to see. The building itself is worth a visit alone if you're into concreteWritten 19 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Nicola KJohannesburg, South Africa152 contributionsParking takes forever when it's a beautiful day in season, but it's worth the wait and the walk. No access for those who have mobility restrictions, as all beach access is via many stairs. Umbrellas and loungers available for hire on the beaches, take cash with you. Saves carrying extra weight up and down the stairs.Written 2 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Eileen1 contributionLovely little fishing town - well worth making a stop to walk around the shops, the beach and also the harbour area. Lots of good restaurants, we only visited two, but both were really good. We had no problem with safety, parked and walked to a restaurant one time, and had to ask for directions. Never felt unsafe.
Interesting point - because it is on the other side of the mountain from Cape Town, the weather may be completely different! We woke up on a cloudy, overcast day in Llandudno, drove to Hout Bay and it was blue skies and sunny!Written 28 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Liezel Wilson2 contributionsBeautiful beach but very windy.
Great place to take your dogs for a run. So much open space for them to go wild.Written 24 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - JulesGermany1 contributionIf you are searching for a place to take impressive pictures or enjoy a walk surrounded by colorful houses- then this is the place for you.
Bo-Kaap is an area in Cape Town which is known for its colorful and unique houses, which will definitely put a smile on your face :D
I personally am always fascinated by pretty exterior design and fancy cities, so this area is definitely unforgettable.
There were quite a few poor people though, who came up to us and begged for money, so I will recommend to still take extra care of your belongings, even in this doll town.Written 8 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - lottikarottiGermany404 contributionsVery urban spot in the centre of Woodstock/Cape Town, nice little alternative shops with art, fashion and accessories. Highly recommend to come here on Saturday or Sunday to the Neighborgoods Market, my favorite market in Cape Town. Live music or Djs, a huge hall with internanational food stands, cocktails, beer and wine. Such a vibe and atmosphere, people are dancing and chilling, absolutely love it!!!Written 27 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- DanielGreater Johannesburg, South Africa19 contributionsThis is a must do for everyone I think. The experience and rich history we received at Robben Ireland was inveluable. Our prison guide was a Robben Ireland detainee who spent 10 years Mr Itumeleng. He shared the history and his experience with a passion, giving is time for questions and pictures and videos it was indeed great. When done Thabo took us a tour of the whole Ireland by bus where he explained various land marks and history of various like Sobukwe house the kgwari etc. Thabo was also very passionate about explaining the various landmarks. The only draw back was a checking experience at VnA water front where security just dismissed everyone and told them to come at half pass when we have tickets that said 10h15. He didn't explain and we were all confused. Also directions to the ticket or meeting point at VnA are poor and had to ask various people to get there which is not great. All was world class once checked it all the way to the ferry to Ireland perfect.Written 26 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jaine H6 contributionsAfter two years closure(due to Covid19 restrictions) I am happy to say that the Heart of Cape Town has reopened.
I took my home school students for the tour yesterday and it was fantastic.
This was my third tour with students and the tour guide Cindy was the best. She is an oracle, not a doctor, who is totally invested in the history of Chris Barnard and his team who performed the World's , first ever, heart transplant.
She is articulate, while using plain speak on the technical aspects while sharing small anecdotes that add humor and breath life, into what could be a sterile tour - excuse my puns.
Amazing life life exhibitions transport the visitor back to that historic night.
My students aged 11 and 12 (grade 6) were fascinated throughout the tour. No better way to learn history than through the experience.
This tour is Cape Town's best educational and tourist attraction. Don't miss it.Written 11 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
