- RachaelBrackenfell, South Africa7 contributionsAmazing experience with friends. Stunning view of cape town. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting. - KardoesieSouth Africa4 367 contributionsThe start of the hike to Lion’s Head is accessible by car or Uber or Bolt and it can be climbed in a short space of time. The route is easy to navigate – at one point it splits and then you can decide if you will climb shorter (scarier if you are scared of height exposure; use chains) or longer (less scary). There are ladders to climb on both routes. Take water and a warm jacket, it can be cold on top. Ideal for a hike with memorable vistas.Written 21 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jacqueline SKommetjie, South Africa4 contributionsBeauty and magnificence beyond compare! We are
very fortunate to live close by - it's a place that could never be boring! The funicular is a fun ride, the lighthouse spectacular, the views and walks breath-taking, restaurant 5-star quality and the drives around Cape Point always yield wonderful animal and bird life. Well worth the visit!Written 3 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. After visiting, I felt amazed by the sea creatures and more aware of the need to protect the ocean.Written 9 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Oscar_RetrieverNewton, NC333 contributionsThis is a very interesting part of Cape Town to visit but best done with a guide. There is a fair bit of history here, but it is much more meaningful to have someone tell you what you are looking at. There are also a bunch of interesting art galleries, and a wonderful Turkish spice store.Written 10 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - creativestartravelLondon, UK1 998 contributionsHad a pleasant stroll on the beach, at the weekends there are more visitors and overall I had a nice few hours just chilling out. In comparison to when I first visited this area, it has changed a lot and not always for the nicest of reason. Overall, I would come back again as this is a nice Bay Area and beach to visit.Written 18 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MikekEarlston, UK93 contributionsBig expanse of lovely sand, shallow water and decent waves- ideal for beginner surfers! Also better that the big finned neighbours have moved up the coast a bit! Memorable coloured beach huts. A nice family visit.Written 14 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tracy E2 contributionsAbsolutely beautiful location and the hotel has a great charm and feel to it. The staff were very accommodating and service was generally good. If you are travelling with a large family (we were a family of 6) I suggest you pre book all your meals at the hotel in advance before arriving at the hotel. On arrival, when I tried to make a reservation for dinner, I was informed the restaurant was full. They suggested a restaurant in Camps Bay, which they reserved for us and had the hotel transport us there and back.
That same day, I had asked them to then please reserve a table for us for dinner for the following two nights at the hotel, which they said they would do, only to find out that no bookings had been made so we never got to eat in the main dining section of the hotel which was disappointing. We were relocated one night to the observatory and were given an all day snack menu to choose from and then on the 3rd night we were placed in the 24 hour cafe at the back of the hotel which was average.
I also phoned ahead for breakfast as on the first morning they couldn’t accommodate 6 of us together for breakfast, again, we were placed in the 24 hour cafe.Written 14 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Everytime the wine was super and affordable. I just love the atmosphere and of course the wine, my favourite the wooded Chardonnay.
The last tasting we were there was exceptional. Our wine steward, Marco, knew his wine and answer questions. So friendly and polite showing a passion for his job. What an assit he is for the farm!

I would highly recommend them. Friendly and very understanding of one's issues.Written 4 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
