- Silvana SBuenos Aires, Argentina21 contributionsWe enjoyed this experience, it was very interesting to go into the story of the diamonds mining and the special aspects of this business. The explanation and all the details that our guide Maxine provided us made this experience more enjoyable.

- Noel JPerth, Australia79 contributionsNot too far from the centre of town this was a great choice.
Plenty to see, do, buy and eat with smiles on all fronts the end result.
Friendly staff and great service. Grateful they don't ship from the gift shop :)

Outside courtyard and cafe on site. We were in the smallest of the four screens +/- 50 seats. A good film and a taste of nostalgia- cinema as it used to be.Written 1 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jennifer VPuerto Armuelles, Panama733 contributionsIf you want to get a sneak peek into our South African history, then a good place to visit would be the South African Airforce Museum. It is a humble establishment tucked away within the Ysterplaat Airforce Base. It does not have a lot of fanfare to announce its location with a plain sign to welcome you onto the property. There is limited parking outside the building. There is no admission fee but donations are most welcome. The museum is very small but well laid out with beautiful artifacts, photographs and artwork. There are restrooms available inside the museum. There is a little museum shop which mainly sells books, hats and keyrings. Alongside the museum building, is a small hanger with a few small aeroplanes and odds and ends contained therein. It was a pleasure to see some veterans showing their grandchildren around the museum. We were fortunate enough to be invited to watch the monthly start up of the Shackleton Aeroplane (last serviceable version in the world). The whole exercise was well organised, safety measures well adherred to (even the removals of caps and hats before the propellers started). Cameras are permitted within the museum and whilst the Shackleton was in operation, but otherwise cameras are not permitted due to the security of the area. This is a working base, so respect and adherence to instructions is expected at all times. This visit was a pleasure and recommended. As said previously, the museum is very small and humble but still a pleasure to enjoy what has been treasured in their glass cabinets.Written 28 June 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kandk_8United States43 contributionsWow not only is this place beautiful but the two massages I had were fabulous and relieved my back spasms which enabled me to enjoy the rest of my visit to Cape Town and to sit on the almost 17 hour trip from there to Washington DC and then home to Massachusetts.
I would highly recommend them. Friendly and very understanding of one's issues.Written 4 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NittayaCape Town, South Africa2 contributionsI cannot express my gratitude enough to Johan who made my beautiful wedding/engagement ring (I only wanted one ring because of personal preference). I was very nervous going into this process as I have never had custom made jewellery before but I was very quickly put at ease by his calm and informative process. Everything from showing me what the stones would look like roughly to even how to remove a ring correctly from my finger. It was more than just a consultation of what I wanted in a ring, it was information in what I needed to look out for and life skills regarding my ring.
He was also extremely honest in what stones would not work for an "everyday wear" ring such as a wedding ring. I also asked for lab grown stones such as Moissanite and he happily catered for my taste in lab grown stones.
I was floored how smoothly everything went after the consultation too. I expected a few tweaks to be made to my ring design (as I should be picky for a life time investment) but as soon as I got the design, I knew it was the exact ring I wanted. Any concerns I raised was listened to and he was always one step (sometimes two steps) ahead of what I needed.
The detail in Johan's work went further than the ring itself. He made 100% sure that what I wanted was acknowledged. I was brought in to be shown the stones one last time after the CAD and before 3D printing was made and the final process started. I do not know if this is standard procedure but it was reassuring that my ring was in the right hands.
I have never had a custom made ring but I can see why Johan has the reputation he does. Immaculate and always goes beyond what you need. From day one in the consultation, I knew my ring was going to be beautiful and (just as important) will last a life time. Thank you again from both my fiancé and myself to Johan from Uwe Koetter Jewellers.
Side Note: I already have my pendant lined up to be made next so if that this review is not enough to convince you then know that once you experience the kindness and care from Johan at Uwe Koetter Jewellers, you will be loyal for life to this lovely place.Written 30 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. She grew up in Langa and taught us so many different things about the township, and we also had a chance to meet people who started their business and cultural activities there.
We definetely recommend to ask for her as your guide.
P.s. if you take an Uber to get there, don't be scared by the driver, the tour is super safe and everyone is kind!Written 7 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our guide, Mark, was very helpful and nice: he managed to meet all our requests and stayed with us until late in the evening.
If I had to change one thing, maybe the wine tasting wasn't at the other experiences.
That's said, we would 100% recommend this tour!

- LizSeattle, WA17 contributionsMy mom is pretty mobility limited and couldn't do the amount of walking the traditional tours do. When I contacted Cape Town Culinary Tours, they were super accommodating and came up with a great alternative - we could do a private tour and they would call an Uber in between the stops. It worked out perfectly!
Elsje was super responsive through the whole process and led a fantastic tour. She's a great tour guide! Super knowledgeable about the history and culture that came together to create the distinctly Cape food scene. The places we went to were fantastic and really covered the gamut of different food cultures. Everything was high quality and everyone we met at the stops were fantastic.
I can't recommend them highly enough, and if you have mobility limitations they are great to work with!Written 25 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
