- Misha M5 contributionsLoved the experience ...
make sure you take a warm jacket when visiting the top of table mountain - highly recommend a guided tour if its your first time ...
stunning views from all angles .....Written 2 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Yasser S9 contributionsSoooo many things to visit, personally the restaurants were the best places we enjoyed.. .fish dishes very very tasty, and I think it was at "The Greek Fisherman".. .the big wheel, a lot about the local culture as well. Live music, magicians.. . The Water Shed a nice place to visit with local original crafts of SA. Also a place where kids can play while parents shop around. Also nearby you can take the Hop-in Hop-off Red Bus, that can bring you around the whole Cape Town, visiting many many interesting places on different days. The winery, the Signal Mt, the Cape Point, the Kirshterboch (sorry, I dont remember the name spelling well) Garden.. .Written 26 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- TlatsiPretoria, South Africa2 contributionsNot your average hike. A lot of rock climbing but worth the challenge because you get spectacular views on the top and honestly throughout the hikeWritten 1 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Corne LBellville, South Africa156 contributionsI took my outdoor club to Cape Point Nature Reserve during a camp near Simon's Town. There are two big tidal pools where the kids can swim and relax. Just be on the lookout for baboons when having a picnic. The public toilets are clean and tidy. Visit the two memorial crosses for Da Gama and Diaz. Don't think many Capetonians have been next to them.
Take the steps/path to the top to the lighthouse and skip the easier way with the tram. You'll get a good workout.
We saw an eland a few hundred meters from us between us and the cliff when walking down. The only other animals sighted were lots and lots of seabirds, baboons and 6 ostriches. Would've loved to see more animals in this vast park.
Be prepared for very strong and icy cold wind when going up to the lighthouse.Written 26 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - vtmpHouston, TX70 contributionsBreath taking sunset. A plus was that you got to see the night light of the city below and the table mountain silhouette. I went twice to see. Just to remind if you want to get a parking, you should got there an hour earlier so that you could pick a park and a spot to enjoy. Loved itWritten 16 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- André KUitenhage, South Africa192 contributionsWide variety of sea life on display. Tanks is well kept and staff is friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our visit to this world class Aqaurium.Written 20 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Danie92Johannesburg, South Africa296 contributionsIf you are interested in the history of the Cape then this is the place to go. I was expecting much more exhibits but the ones on display give you a good idea of life in years gone by.Written 29 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Nicola KJohannesburg, South Africa152 contributionsParking takes forever when it's a beautiful day in season, but it's worth the wait and the walk. No access for those who have mobility restrictions, as all beach access is via many stairs. Umbrellas and loungers available for hire on the beaches, take cash with you. Saves carrying extra weight up and down the stairs.Written 2 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Eileen1 contributionLovely little fishing town - well worth making a stop to walk around the shops, the beach and also the harbour area. Lots of good restaurants, we only visited two, but both were really good. We had no problem with safety, parked and walked to a restaurant one time, and had to ask for directions. Never felt unsafe.
Interesting point - because it is on the other side of the mountain from Cape Town, the weather may be completely different! We woke up on a cloudy, overcast day in Llandudno, drove to Hout Bay and it was blue skies and sunny!Written 28 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Liezel Wilson2 contributionsBeautiful beach but very windy.
Great place to take your dogs for a run. So much open space for them to go wild.Written 24 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Grace HCounty Mayo, Ireland171 contributionsPopped up here to get some photographs and while I'm glad I did I would advise caution of your stuff which we were also alerted to by out uber driver. Perhaps worth doing as part of a tour as would have liked to know more of the history.Written 6 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- zodiac0908Gaborone28 contributionsA great place to visit on a weekend.
Great environment for instant friendships and various cuisines.
The market has very many stalls selling jewellery, artisan leather and clothing , books, food, flowers and endless drinks.
Bringing everything together is a resident DJ.
A place that welcomes different ethnicities and style.Written 2 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - jadams2801Swindon, UK108 contributionsThis was an interesting and humbling tour. The bus trip around the island is interesting and our tour guide gave us lots of interesting facts about the island and its history. Look out for all the wildlife, in particular all the turtles, we even found a penguin. The tour of the prison with an ex inmate gives a real insight into what it was like. Our tour guide was willing to answer any questions and was very open about his experience as an inmate. Definitely add this to your Cape Town itinerary.Written 17 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Mark EnglandSouth Africa53 contributionsSuch a great experience. A beautiful museum Wel looked after. Lots of fascinating details and a reminder why we must never forget crimes of the past. - Richard Colorado2 contributionsWe were pleasantly surprised by how much details and facts we learnt about on our tour to the museum. We took the guided tour and it was fantastic hearing from the guide who was very passionate about her job and the museum. This museum is part of history and is set in the location where the actual transplant occurred. The way it is set up you can almost imagine yourself being part of history and watching a miracle taking place right before your eyes. The museum had free parking in a secure part of the hospital.Written 29 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
