What travellers are saying
- lolipop177Liverpool, UK77 contributionsBeautiful beaches and rocks with huge beautiful homes surrounding it. Views of Table mountain and lions head. The sea is absolutely freezing though so be warned hahaha!Written 9 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Fossel75Johannesburg, South Africa17 contributionsbeautiful beach, a calm day great sky, and a breathtaking view of the mountain, weather is however unpredictable so pick the days you want to explore. you can walk a good 5km or more in either direction and still have a stunning view. Breaking for an icecream at the Milkylane, coffee at M&B or a light snack just off the beach makes for a great day out...Written 7 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Maggie S33 contributionsThe beach was VERY crowded and there were too many surfers for any real surfing to be done. But beautiful place to swim if you can both handle the cold and don't know how to surf. We rented boards and wetsuits from Lifestyle Surf shop just across from the beach and it was very key. The wetsuit made swimming very pleasant.Written 8 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Johan The Hiking GuideCape Town, South Africa4 contributionsA wonderful, yet streneous out-and-back hike along the coast from Sandy Bay, near Llundudno. Hikers are advised to approach the wreck with caution, and avoid swimming in the rip-currents around the wreck. Take enough water and pack lunch for a picnic at the wreck!
The BOS 400 was a French derrick/lay barge that ran aground while being towed by a Russian tugboat on June 26, 1994 after the towing cable snapped during a storm.
The shipwreck is considered a total loss, and BOS 400 remains a wreck today, with a large crane and part of the superstructure visible above sea level. The wreck is slowly disintegrating due to exposure to the elements.Written 17 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
