Beauty and magnificence beyond compare! We are
very fortunate to live close by - it's a place that could never be boring! The funicular is a fun ride, the lighthouse spectacular, the views and walks breath-taking, restaurant 5-star quality and the drives around Cape Point always yield wonderful animal and bird life. Well worth the visit!

Great experience if you’ve never seen animals in the wild before.
It’s about a three hour drive from Cape Town. The roads to and from the reserve are really good with only the last 8kms or so being dirt roads but from what we could see, the roads are being built to make driving easier.
I cannot commend the staff enough. From check in to the game drives, they were all professional and courteous.
Prosper was our driver and he’s very knowledgeable about the wildlife and where to spot them. As per itinerary, we went on two drives; one in the evening and the other in the morning. We managed to see all of the big five plus more than I had anticipated. Our schedule was tight so one night was enough for us. If you decide to go between June and August, just make sure you carry warm clothes because the African cold can be quite brutal especially in the mornings.
Another shout out to Jessie who provided some well deserved massages and we definitely felt that she gave us our money’s worth.
    Would definitely recommend this excursion.

Loved the walk through encounters. Favorite attraction were the monkeys. I feel that the ticket price for adults are a bit steep.🧐 Picnic area needs a bit attention.

Had fun at the ostrich farm and very close up to ostriches. There is a shop to browse ostrich products like purses and bags. And we got to buy bowls of feed to feed 2 ostriches in a designated pen. There’s also a restaurant in the same compound that serves ostrich fillet but we didn’t try the food. Overall, it was really fun taking a quick visit to the ostrich farm and happy to chance across it! Interesting to hold the ostrich egg and look at the ostrich egg shell art too.

Who knew?! In the middle of high-rise buildings, close to the highway? Yet, still so tranquil - the boat ride was awesome - the guide very knowledgeable and the bird life amazing! The walk is also great, spotted a whole lot more birds.

It was a very pleasant surprise to find this haven of serenity in the suburbs. The only thing that might be perceived as a negative is that you have to park your car outside. The bird hides are beautifully kept and maintained. It is the complete marshland/vlei experience. The birds are numerous. During mating season which is now, the leopard toads are very vocal. There are around 10 hippos but none to be seen as they are nocturnal.

A short distance form Cape Town and a scenic route slightly off the normal tourist route. Stop in Melkbosstrand for a meal !

I went there five years ago to research the vlei as a tourism destination. I enjoyed the birdlife and educational facilities and of course the view towards Table Mountain! As accessibility is an important aspect which Incar Travel Guide always include in our advice to people with special needs, I found the following obvious shortcomings for people in wheelchairs.
While the long walkway to the hide was a very welcome feature I was once again surprised at the little thinking that went into its design. A roller can eventually get to the hide, only to get stuck at the steps at the entrance which is impossible for them to manage!
Secondly, the maintenance of the walkway was poor. There was no ramp to the walkway at its beginning. A section was obviously missing for a very long time. I suspected that when it gets repaired, it will be with steps, because, once again, no thought would be given to rollers.
Surely guys, why do you want people with special needs EXCLUDED! What have they done to you!?
I sincerely trust that these problems had been rectified over the past 5 years!

We were very fortunate to have Daniel for our guide to Cape Town. He was informative, entertaining, knowledgeable about every topic from history, politics, culture, geography, food and wine.
He planned our activities carefully and made every day interesting and memorable.
We had an unfortunate situation occur during our trip when my son became ill and required emergency medical care. He drove us to the hospital, walked us into the emergency room and made sure he was promptly attended to. My son needed to return to the United States for surgery. Daniel used his personal car, after hours and drove him to the airport. This is treatment above and beyond what any tour guide would offer.
I can’t thank him enough or recommend him any higher. The best!
