After two years closure(due to Covid19 restrictions) I am happy to say that the Heart of Cape Town has reopened.
I took my home school students for the tour yesterday and it was fantastic.
This was my third tour with students and the tour guide Cindy was the best. She is an oracle, not a doctor, who is totally invested in the history of Chris Barnard and his team who performed the World's , first ever, heart transplant.
She is articulate, while using plain speak on the technical aspects while sharing small anecdotes that add humor and breath life, into what could be a sterile tour - excuse my puns.
Amazing life life exhibitions transport the visitor back to that historic night.
My students aged 11 and 12 (grade 6) were fascinated throughout the tour. No better way to learn history than through the experience.
This tour is Cape Town's best educational and tourist attraction. Don't miss it.
