After having to cancel on the Saturday as I was really ill during the night, we were able to reschedule for the Sunday with no hassle whatsoever. Our guide Omar was so friendly and informative, a real pleasure to spend the day with. He also took us to the Table Mountain cable cars at the end of the day and waited for us, as I had been too unwell to go before. We really appreciated this and were so grateful. Then trekked to cape of good hope.

We spent a few days in Cape Town before a cruise up the east coast of South Africa. We chose this one day tour that promised visits to Table Mountain, Cape of Good Hope, a penguin colony, and other locations of interest.
We can truly say that our Cape Town tour with Marshall (aka Barnabas) was one of the very best tour experiences we have had in decades of travel. He was the perfect guide. He picked us up on time at our hotel, transported us safely in a comfortable car, and smoothly gained us entrance to each spot we visited. He also planned and executed the itinerary in the most efficient manner, so we were able to visit a dizzying number of significant locations (Table Mountain, Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point, Seal Island, Penguin colony) in one day without feeling rushed, and also avoiding or minimizing competing with crowds. He knew exactly how long one would want to spend at each location, but also allowed us the freedom to choose more or less time.
Perhaps most important, however, he has a charming personality, and we felt at ease with him instantly. He gave us great information, and answered all our questions in depth. We ended up having delightful and interesting discussions of everything from tribal customs to current urban issues to our respective tastes in music. We also enjoyed lots of laughs. Although we both are several years older than Marshall, we felt we had spent the day having a local friend show us around. It9 was 2.5 hour drive to Aquila Big Five zGame Reserve and tour guide Jamie /James was amazing. He was very knowledgeable, articulate and had a great since of humor. We visited 4 stunning wineries where we sampled excellent wines and had a delicious lunch at the very scenic Tokara Estate. The day passed by so quickly as we were enjoying it so much.
It was a pleasure to chat with our guide John about the wines and South Africa in general. He was extremely knowledgeable and he definitely added to our experience. We could not have asked for a better guide.
We found the tour to be excellent value for money and could not recommend this tour more highly! - Anne MIreland131 contributionsSo well organised. There are apparently six different routes. Apparently orange or purple is best. No idea how to advise you how to chose. We were allotted navy and it was great. The other thing is if you know which tour you will be on then you will have an idea where you ll b at lunch time and can pre book. We didn't and the 2 apparently best restaurants were fully booked. Need 24hr notice! Didn't matter. We had a lovely lunch at vrede en lust..but did ring on the day to book. You are given all the phone numbers. . Some wineries were more welcoming than others. Allee bleu stood out..with wonderful service good wine offered excellent breakfast and a very good gift shop. Skip Bartinney they treat the tram visitors v poorly with one lovely waiter trying to look after everyone. Some eg le pommier have 'drinking' wines for the tasting..but just ask if you want something better. The city sightseeing team run the day meticulously.
