Very informative. A moving experience, educational. Bus tour leader very knowledgeable. Prison tour leader sometimes difficult to understand.

Excellent tour, Joseph met me at the clock tower, gave me the ticket, outlined the day and showed me to the correct place to board. The trip to Robben Island was excellent, the guide was an ex-inmate, his stories were fascinating, emotive and have a real insight into the history and conditions of the prison. Well worth it (and the views of cape town from the boat will stay with me forever)

We very much appreciated the purposes and motivations behind this tour. It is eye opening to international visitors that didn’t live here and experience the traumas of the past. Some tips: the ticket says boat gate opens 45 minutes prior to tour time. What that means is that you start a queue inside the museum beginning at 45 minutes prior and stand there until departure time. Also, if it’s a hot day, grab a seat near one of the open doors if possible. The ferry can get quite warm. Finally, and true with all tours, try to get a seat on the bus up front. The drivers are hard to hear from the back, especially if you sit in front of a two-year old. Once off the bus and inside the prison, the commentary was excellent and moving. It’s well worth doing this trip

Excellent tour. Led by a local. Highly recommend if you are interested in the history and the community. The area is full of its own culture.

Awesome experience. Tour guide Jeff was brilliant. Couldn't go up Table Mountain because it was too windy. But to see the penguins and cape of good hope was a great experience

Visitors get exclusive access to the island, including the prison cell where Nelson Mandela was held, making it a unique and unforgettable experience.

Highly recommend - we visited the township of Langa with our family (6) youngest was 10yrs old - our tour guides Sam & Leon were excellent - it was so educational and we could not believe the access into the township we got - so sad to see first hand the conditions & hardship the poor people live in & face everyday - as a family we are so happy we did it - once in a lifetime experience and it sure gives you a new perspective on life !

I had a lovely day out to Cape L’Agulhas with James. He was a great guide and taught me a lot along the ride. A couple of people had indicated this trip might not be worth it (as it’s a long drive from Cape Town), but it was — I’m really glad I got this opportunity to go to the southern tip.

If I could give 3.5 here I would
    Inbetween average and very good

Guide was cheerful and a nice enough chap and on time when collecting but after a while he did waffle. I came in this trip because I don’t know much about wine and wanted to learn about it. Shopping time in a stop off point I can do anytime, this was a vineyard tour. 3 vineyards part of the trip.
Stop 1 Was the most thorough, see the room with the barrels, then sit down and try a white a rose and
a red. Hints of caramel, vanilla, strawberry etc, little did we know that as the day went on it was going to be the same script but more progressively rushed on each stop.
Stop 2. Lovely place, sommelier there trying to manage a room with different tours all at once -didn’t get to try all the wines we were supposed to be trying before being ushered out to go to the lunch stop half an hour away.
Stop 3 (after lunch) tram ride through beautiful countryside, lovely, venue exquisite and reminding me of an old colonial place you see in the films
I’m glad we did the trip and the guys were nice folks but I must be honest and say I’ve come back still not knowing anything about wines other than they all have the same aromas apparently
There was a real international mix of people which was cool, the impromptu stop to see the Nelson Mandela prison where he was released from was a nice touch too. The guide was a nice guy and was there throughout. I blame the company more than the employees here, they need better planning and should make it more educational insisting that enough and equipped sommeliers are in attendance and able to educate
Feedback for the African Eagle company that organised this trip, the review form that you are asked to complete is more of an assessment of the guide’s performance than an opportunity for them to get feedback on the trip itself. From this I get the impression that they’re not the best company to work for and I’d wager guides come and go here if that’s what they’re more concerned about than genuine feedback which I hope they’ll benefit from if any of their hierarchy get to see this.

I would’ve preferred to skip the bus tour and have more time exploring the prison itself.
Another option could have been to actually get out when the bus stopped at different points.

The tour was a simple walk from the waterfront to Company Gardens. However our guide Gerald combined a comprehensive world powers history of South Africa with Cape Town's own history, covering local landmarks, quarters and events. We found the tour very insightful wished we could have experienced it at the beginning of our trip instead of at the very end.

The boat ride was nice, although quite windy. We got to see penguins on our way. Our guide at the prison was a prisoner himself back in the late 60’s. All the guides were prisoners at some time. To get actual accounts from our guide, was fascinating and sad. So glad we took the tour!
