Inbetween average and very good
Guide was cheerful and a nice enough chap and on time when collecting but after a while he did waffle. I came in this trip because I don’t know much about wine and wanted to learn about it. Shopping time in a stop off point I can do anytime, this was a vineyard tour. 3 vineyards part of the trip.
Stop 1 Was the most thorough, see the room with the barrels, then sit down and try a white a rose and
a red. Hints of caramel, vanilla, strawberry etc, little did we know that as the day went on it was going to be the same script but more progressively rushed on each stop.
Stop 2. Lovely place, sommelier there trying to manage a room with different tours all at once -didn’t get to try all the wines we were supposed to be trying before being ushered out to go to the lunch stop half an hour away.
Stop 3 (after lunch) tram ride through beautiful countryside, lovely, venue exquisite and reminding me of an old colonial place you see in the films
I’m glad we did the trip and the guys were nice folks but I must be honest and say I’ve come back still not knowing anything about wines other than they all have the same aromas apparently
There was a real international mix of people which was cool, the impromptu stop to see the Nelson Mandela prison where he was released from was a nice touch too. The guide was a nice guy and was there throughout. I blame the company more than the employees here, they need better planning and should make it more educational insisting that enough and equipped sommeliers are in attendance and able to educate
Feedback for the African Eagle company that organised this trip, the review form that you are asked to complete is more of an assessment of the guide’s performance than an opportunity for them to get feedback on the trip itself. At Robben island we were shown the cells by a former political prisoner which made the whole thing even more real. Table Mountain lived up to expectations and the walk at the top provides amazing view of Cape Town.
We were extremely lucky that the day we had booked to do this experience was fine and clear. But this time with Jean Marie , it is by far the best experience we ever had and a full understanding .
Jean Marie didn’t count for time or extra places and the smallest details to offer us me and my wife

We took this tour on our third day in Cape Town, before leaving on a cruise the fourth day.
Faziela is a mother of six, the owner of the tour company, and an effervescent, delightful woman. She is very chatty and vivacious, which suited us just fine. We quickly were comfortable with her, and she handled everything smoothly and made everything convenient for us. We were fetched from our hotel and transported safely in a comfortable vehicle, and she had pre-arranged the Robben Island tour tickets for us. Yes, you can take an uber and buy your own tickets, if that's all you want to do. What you get with this experience is safety and security, a guarantee that you will have tickets for an early ferry to Robben Island, and a lovely time with a special local person.
After we returned from the ferry tour, Faziela treated us to a special surprise. I won't spoil it for you, but I will say that one significant benefit of booking with Faziela is that she maintains excellent contacts with folks at establishments throughout the City, and this means you can have experiences you would not otherwise have. We finished our tour with a drive around the City to point out a few special sites, with photo opportunities. In addition to her other wonderful qualities, Faziela is an excellent driver.
All in all, it was like being taken care of by a favorite auntie. We highly recommend booking with Faziela.
Please note we are not reviewing the tour of Robben Island itself. Faziela is not permitted to give a tour of the Island, as it is staffed by its own guides. You may read elsewhere about touring Robben Island and the pros and cons. I found Remi's company on TripAdvisor and thought I would give the company a try when booking the Robben Island Nelson Mandela's Prison Museum and Table Mountain excursion. I was thoroughly impressed by Remi's professionalism and knowledge about Cape Town. He was prompt arriving to my hotel, and knew all of the rich history about Cape town. Overall, this company provided excellent service to my family and I highly recommend using Remigeous Tsuro for a fantastic Cape Town experience. - Kashou106Houston, TX59 contributionsWe arranged a tour through our hotel (Blackheath Lodge) and were fortunate to be paired with Stuart for a day-long drive to Cape of Good Hope. What an absolutely lovely man. Several days before our tour there had been a really bad storm in and around Cape Town, which resulted in Chapman’s Peak Drive being blocked by a rockslide. While we were disappointed to miss this beautiful drive, Stuart made up for it with his friendly and knowledgeable tour.
The drive was beautiful and we never felt rushed at any of the stops. Throughout the day, Stuart shared really interesting facts about the area and the history of South Africa. I really wanted to see the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, and thanks to Stuart’s spot-on scheduling, we were able to squeeze in an hour at the gardens on the spur of the moment. If you are in Cape Town, don’t hesitate to book a tour with Stuart - you will not be disappointed. You can tell he has a passion for his job.
