- Rosemary L22 contributionsWe did the Cape Town food tour through de Waterkant and Bo-Kaat which included delicious beverages and authentic African food. The coffee at Origins was smooth and delicious. The food at Marcos was a fun experience! Ostrich, Springbok and Kudu along with a fantastic spicy vegetable. From there we headed into colorful Bo-Kaat and more amazing foods! The Bobotie, omg! So good. The wine at openwine was a great way to start winding down the tour. - Kendall K1 174 contributionsNick’s Cale Town experience was awesome, I booked through Airbnb! Our tour guide’s name was Khanya and he was absolutely a gem. His personality is one of a kind, he is very thoughtful, thorough, passionate, and funny. He made the experience that much better despite having a late start due to no fault of his own. Nick made sure to message us to update us on any delays. What we lost in time, he and Nick made up for in the experience. The three wineries we visited were spectacular, the landscape, and surrounding views add a level of calm and beauty while tasting wine and enjoying charcuterie boards. Our expert guide, Alethea, customized our tour to perfectly suit our preferences. She skillfully balanced family time with couple time, ensuring childcare. - Katie K3 contributionsThe tour started off with the Table Mountain Cableway, amazing views from the top of Table Mountain of the Harbour, Lion's Head, Signal Hill. Go early (8am) to avoid long queues.
Thereafter, had the most scenic of coastline drives taking in the hip Camps Bay, Hout Bay to visit Seal Island (very affordable bar on board the boat), lovely winding Chapman's Peak Drive, ending at Cape Point with a small hike up to the Lighthouse, the views over False Bay are awesome! Take pictures at the Cape of Good Hope and don't forget to visit with the penguin colony at Boulders Beach. Finally return to Capetown via Fishoek and Muizenburg - a most thorough and enjoyable round trip. Willem had nearly encyclopedic knowledge of the South African (and particularly the Stellenbosch region) wine industry. Every detail was meticulously planned and executed. This is a tour for people who truly want to soak up all the sights, sounds, smells and particularly tastes of wines from great wine producers...in settings that can only be described as stunning. I consider myself a wine geek, and this tour (and guide) stretched the limits.
