What travellers are saying
- AnengelkeCape Town Central, South Africa14 contributionsA phenomenal experience from the moment I walked in to the moment I left. Every little detail was cared for. From the volume of music, relaxing ambience, therapist’s touch and oil selection, the quality and standards are worldclass.
As an educator in the industry, I am especially aware of hygiene and attention to small details. I felt impressed by the the therapist’s knowledge & skill. The massage was specific to suit my needs, intuitively performed and left me feeling calm and relaxed. Clientcare was gentle, kind and discreet.
I will definitely go back for more and remcommend them to anyone who needs a little self-love & me-time.
Thank you Mai ThaiWritten 4 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Matthew1 contributionI've been using these float tanks for years. The experience, facilities and staff are great.
Who would like this?
- Anyone looking to unwind from a busy day or high-stress lifestyle
- People interested in meditation and the exploration of consciousness
- Someone who wants to experience something unique
The experience:
Your first step is booking a time slot and deciding on the duration of your float. I've done 30 mins, 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours and an overnight (8 hour) float. For beginners, I'd recommend 30m to 1hr. Ease into it, then definitely go for longer - that's where the real magic is.
Once you arrive, the staff will welcome you, give you a quick tour, show you the float room (there are two, one has built-in speakers to play music if you want) and explain the process.
When you're ready, the room is yours. You have access to your own (private and secure) float room with a shower, toilet, sink and plenty of extra towels.
The tank itself is functional - a little on the small side, and not 100% sound proof, but does the job just fine. That said, the ear plugs provided take care of the odd noise.
Once you've showered, you hop in the tank and off you go!
With ear plugs in, the environment is silent, pitch black and perfectly heated to body temperature so you can't tell the difference between the water and the air.
And, of course, you are floating!
Personal notes:
Each time was memorable, restorative and helpful. With absolutely no external distractions, your mind is free to focus inward. Time melts away. I either practice a "no thought" meditation or think through some problem, plan or creative idea. But you really are free to explore anything you want in there!
Ultimately, I see the experience as an incredibly powerful tool to study and connect with a fundamental component of your human OS. I like to imagine that when Yoda sent Luke Skywalker into that swampy black cave, what he found in there was a float tank.
If all this tickles your fancy, I couldn't recommend the Ubuntu Wellness Centre more.Written 22 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Karleen TCape Town, South Africa3 contributionsWhen I arrived I was offered a refreshing drink before having my lashes done and I enjoyed my fresh lemonade sitting by the pool before my treatment. The treatment room was beautifully decorated in shades of grey and cream, the perfect setting for my new set of lashes. Grace, my lash technician was warm and friendly and not too talkative which I liked. Her touch was gentle and sure and I think I even dozed off for a while! The end result was lovely long lashes, just what I wanted. A good job well done in the most tranquil of settings. Thank you everyone at The Loft Spa, I will be back.Written 17 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Sean OWashington DC, DC4 contributionsVery relaxing and healing massage. I received the 90 minute Thai oil massage and was very pleased with the service. The entire establishment was very welcoming, clean, and beautiful. I already booked another massage for next week! Visiting from the states and enjoying first class service from the nicest people here in Cape Town and Ruan Thai Massage and Spa.Written 13 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- HaroldandScoutLondon, UK43 contributionsHad a wonderful pedicure while staying at the hotel. I wish I had more time to spend at the spa. Quiet, peaceful and very good service.Written 1 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Stephen C1 contributionAs usual, the whole experience was good value. Having now been a number of times, though, I'm tired of the somewhat cheesy music that is played.Written 3 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Natalie Raymond-PaulCape Town Central, South Africa10 contributionsWhat a simply beautiful place to be. Absolutely ALL the teachers are fantastic and caring and kind. Fulvio with his wit always puts a smile on my face when I am literally shaking to hold that Vinyasa pose. Roxanne and Leanne on the Bikram side, are so encouraging. The staff are just amazing and are always available for a chat and a laugh. For me, this is my "safe haven" in Cape Town. I travel 15k's to get there - that's how special this place is for me. Sorry to those I didn't mention. Still learning your names. But a huge thumbs up from me. I highly recommend this little jewel, perfectly situated, for travelers and locals. I just can't say enough. To find out more. Speak to wonderful Jess, who is always there, with a big welcoming smile. ❤️❤️❤️Written 15 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Susan WTable View, South Africa9 contributionsI’ve visited the venue many times over the years and can confidently say that there’s improvement since my last visit. Every treatment was thoroughly enjoyed. The therapists were consistently friendly and ensured that we enjoyed our treatments. The only areas which require attention would be their food. Breakfast was not very appetizing and it would have been nice to have a little more choice for lunch, although the lunch was good.
Overall it is an experience every woman should be treated to. The price is very reasonable and the venue is spotlessly clean. - Kim HAdelaide, Australia11 contributionsRecently spent 11 days in beautiful Cape Town being hosted on this novel fitness and lifestyle adventure.
Never a dull moment where you feel part of a new, supportive family having every need attended to.
As the oldest guest (by a lot), I loved all the activities from yoga to quite strenuous hikes and HIIT sessions for fitness, educational adventures to wineries, Robben Island and a game reserve and fun social activities.
This is a wonderful holiday for singles, couples or families.
I would repeat this holiday in a heartbeat!Written 2 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Josh DDenver, CO337 contributionsDespite being underwhelmed by the hotel, the spa is excellent. Staff is great and the value for the treatments is awesome. Highly recommend booking multiple treatments before you arrive.Written 7 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- bhaskaran c19 contributionsWent for a couples massage. Massage was good. The couples room a bit unimpressive. The place has central air con which makes the room colder than I would have liked.
The therapists and staff were friendly.
The sauna is legit worth the whole trip. Amazing views. Late afternoon time.Written 18 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - JPATCapeTownCape Town Central, South Africa116 contributionsAs every couple of weeks we'd like to treat ourselves to some pampering. This time we decided to try something new - hearing about K SPA we decided to give it a go.
We booked for one of their Autumn Specials and so happy we did: 60min massage followed by 60min facial and express pedicure. The experience was fantastic. The therapists are very professional and we enjoyed our treatments very much; ask for Donnell and Yongama - they both fantastic! We loved their facilities and decor throughout. The only suggestion is to keep the rooms a bit warmer to create cosy atmosphere (winter is coming!).
They also offer Thai massages but that we will try next time. See you soon!Written 7 May 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
