Gorgeous setting, we enjoyed a beautiful lunch in salt followed by a tasting of 3 whites & 3 reds during our honeymoon. I can’t remember her name unfortunately but our waitress was fabulous. Great atmosphere. Recommended!!

I can highly recommend Vergelegen Estate as its a beautiful estate with wonderful gardens and extremely well maintained. However don't expect to go there to taste outstanding wines as this estate is really renewed for its gardens (not its wines). However it is definitely worth the visit and a place to spent a couple of hours wondering the gardens. The next door Morgenster is the place to be if you want to taste some (great) wines!

Fairview is a great staple vineyard to go to. Great wines and great atmosphere. Do try the sweet red, slightly fortified and a superb dessert wine. I was skeptical at first but I always buy when I'm here.
Today we had Imke as our wine host and she was spectacular. Despite being new she was knowledgeable, really made us feel welcome and it completed our excellent experience with a cherry (well cheese) on top!

We visited Eikehof as part of our wine tram day and this was our third stop… and our last!
We were given a taste of rose on arrival and then decided we would stop for a cheese and meat platter and a bottle of wine rather than a wine tasting. We were served by Caleb who was unbelievably helpful and informative. After trying a couple of wines we decided on the Sauvignon Blanc which was wonderful. The platter was delicious and enjoyed whilst sat under the trees overlooking the vines. We were really keen to try Eikehof as we prefer smaller vineyards and we were so very impressed. We had such a fabulous time that we ended up staying all afternoon, sampling more of the first class wines and chatting to Caleb. We missed the last tram back and Caleb kindly dropped us back.
It was the most wonderful afternoon and felt like we were treated like friends. Would 100% recommend visiting, Caleb you are a real credit to Eikerhof and thank you for your hospitality and kindness.

Wine tasting in nice courtyard with coffee stall / deli etc and good service in wine tasting. Wouldn't choose this winery for views.

Main flag for others is we went here for our first stop on wine tram with a plan to do the 5km walk that is listed in the walking and running section of the website, before we started the wine tasting. Was difficult to get information on the start / where to go (need to get off at the restaurant / mountain biking centre if you want a walk or a coffee rather than stay on the bus to the tasting room – we had to walk back 15/20 mins) and then turns out the 5k was just around the main grounds and the 10k actually around the more industrial looking part of the estate passing where the tram drops people off and the bus picks you up to take you to the winery so not scenic at all. Would not suggest planning a walk for your day here.

We enjoyed tasting wine and having some snacks on the patio. The views are beautiful. We saw some other people having breakfast which looked nice.
The guy attending us explained each wine before pouring it in our glass.
If you want to relax and spend some hours having wine and enjoying views, this is the place to be.

What a fantastic place for breakfast. My wife and I have been to Franschhoek 4 years running and only went here today for the first time.
The welcome from our server Jenny was brilliant. We had an exceptional breakfast. See the photos.

We then stopped off for a wine tasting with Jade who was as bubbly as the champagne we tasted.

    This place is class!

I need to make up for lost time!

We were looking for a nice location at a wine farm, and this fit the bill. Rooms were modern but setting had traditional feel. Staff was great, food good. Very convenient to Fraschhoek.

We did a wine tasting and then the visit. You are gifted the glasses that were used to serve you wine. We liked the wine and chocolate pairing. The guided visit was interesting, however no clear signage on where it will start. This was the first winery that we visited while in SA, and it did not disappoint compared to the others.

Wine tasting experience set up so well. Beautiful surroundings. Lovely tables set. Very well thought through wine tasting packages. Platters delicious. Well educated, courteous and knowledgeable wine sommelier / server who served us. A credit to Spier for hiring this lovely young man. Everything I expect from Spier with 20 years of visiting.

However too many greeters & managers & behind the counter people (supervising, monitoring and administering) and not enough servers “doing” the table tastings & serving meant the chap was looking after too many tables outside and inside at the same time. Ourselves and another one table had building frustrations. Sorry Spier not the best I expect from your brand.

Beautiful setting. Our wine tasting was overseen by a young gentleman named Theswill. Great service and very knowledgeable. Had a good lunch seated on the lawn overlooking the vineyard. Was a very pleasant way to spend the afternoon. Definitely worth a visit.

The views are amazing. The place is picturesque. Very friendly personnel. Jose was our host for the wine tasting - what an experience. She is very professional and knowledgeable. Thank you for an awesome experience. My wife and I will be back for more and this time round, we will bring more of our family and friends to share in this epic experience with us.
