- stevekoch2018Cape Town, South Africa11 contributionsWe recently took a 2 week break and visited 4 of South Africa's national parks, namely Augrabies Falls (2 nights), Mokala ( 3 nights), Addo Elephant Park (2 nights), and the Wilderness National Park - Ebb and Flow Camp (3 nights).
At every park, the rest camps and ALL accommodations, public areas, and facilities were immaculately maintained, (the pools need a bit of TLC). The staff were professional and friendly. WORLD CLASS!!!! Working in tourism, with exclusively international travellers, we are always proudly surprised when they comment on how amazing the facilities and options are in our national parks!!!Written 17 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Anthea d1 contributionThe White River Gallery is a local gem and a must-visit for art enthusiasts and casual admirers alike. Exhibitions feature a perfect blend of well-known, established artists and promising young talent and whether you’re a serious collector or someone who simply appreciates beautiful art, you’ll find something to captivate your interest.
I highly recommend getting on their mailing list or following them on social media to stay updated on new exhibition openings and events.Written 1 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We had Jeanette who arrived at our hotel promptly at 9am and took us away for the day. It was cloudy, and rainy and the road north from Hazyview was fogged in in many places. Jeanette knew her way around and was a skilled and careful driver. Besides the fog, there are people walking in and alongside the road, as well as various animals in the road such as goats, buffalo, and cows. She dealt with all of it and we felt safe driving with her.
We went to Blyde Canyon, the 3 Rondavels, Bourke's Potholes, Lisbon Falls and Berlin Falls. We skipped God's Window on the way due to fog and expecting to stop there on the way back. But, rain had increased and the entire valley was fogged in by the time we were returning. We had seen some spectacular scenery by that point and were ok with letting God's Window go. We stopped back in Glasskopf for a late lunch at Harry's Pancake's and had a simple meal that really hit the spot. Jeanette accompanied us at lunch and it was a pleasure getting to know her a little better.
Jeanette was very knowledgeable about the whole area, pointed out many things that were historical, geological and mundane, patiently answered our many questions, took the time to visit the small museum at Bourke's, and allowed us time to shop in Glasskopf next to the restaurant at a Belgian chocolate shop. In the morning on the way, she also found a place for us to get some take-away coffee. She was very reasonable with any request.
Jeanette is an experienced Guide and we highly recommend her. The Blyde Canyon Panorama Tour was fabulous. These are some unforgettable sights and they are so close to Kruger! You shouldn't miss it.Written 25 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sandy M3 contributionsThe trails are well built, lots of fun, awesome flow lines through beautiful forests. I found some quite challenging but managed everything. The bit of climbing pays off well.
The people at MTO trails are very helpful.Written 9 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We were thrilled to see lots of really interesting birdlife.
Lots of trees to provide shade, and the club, which is celebrating its centenary (!) has a real country feel and lovely views over the course.
The real plus for my adult daughter and her friends was discovering the two Padel courts! They spent a lot of time playing the game, while we found a group below the clubhouse enjoying pétanque (boule).
So even if you are not there to enjoy the golf, you can enjoy squash, tennis, pétanque and paddle or simply take a swim in the pool.
The restaurant served us what I would describe as pub fare at very reasonable prices.
There are various people offering guided day trips into Kruger National Park or you can do a self drive.Written 14 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
