The guides (Sam was my guide) are patient and very knowledgeable. Horses are lovely and safe/sturdy. You can choose your pace.
We came across zebra, warthog, impala, duiker and baboons. Loads of birdlife.
Beautiful surrounds.
I will also try the beach ride in the future (it is tide dependent).
Highly, highly recommend Bhangazi Horse Safaris.

I found Themba through the Go Birding platform of Birdlife South Africa and from the momnent I got in touch he was easy to deal with
After giving Themba a rough idea of what we would like he proposed a 6 day tour starting in the north of KZN and working back to spend 3 days in St Lucia and Isimangalsio Wetland Park.
We quickly agreed a few tweaks and spoke by WhatsApp to introduce ourselves before looking forward to our visit. Thmba kept in touch and we agreed final details a few days before the tour was due to start
As for the tour, fisrtly Thmba has a plethora of bird sites to explore in a huge variety of locations. Secondly his knowledge of birds is incredible and I have never met somome who could imitate so many calls and be so informative about individual species. Themba also has a wealth of knowledge about the landscape and local culture and his knowledge of plants, animals and the general environment was excellent
We had a great time andThemba found us lots of birds and also arranged a river trip and night drive to increase the number and types of bird species we saw. The time flew by and we were sorry when our trip came to an end. O have been to St Lucia several tmes and will make a point of coming back and I look forward to meeting Themba again

Our Zulu lady was Mpume. She is a 35 year old woman who is making it her personal ambition to educate, empower and slowly embrace tradition with development. I can honestly say that we have returned to the ship, totally humbled and honoured to meet her. I have met some inspirational women in my lifetime and she is without doubt up there with the best, and the most uncredited. Her work with young women and men about hygiene has now given her certification of her work. Most girls only own two pairs of knickers. It doesn’t bear thinking about. We visited her mother’s house ( her first mother, her father has two wives) and then Mpumes house. We danced with the Zulu girls who love to learn the dances from TikTok.
