- Richard BEdinburgh, UK5 534 contributionsA truly stunning and natural environment. iSimangaliso Wetland Park is a natural treasure of epic proportions. A 2-3 hours drive from Durban takes you to a piece of nature that has been frozen in time and preserved.
A wealth of landscapes and interesting vistas in an easy to navigate park. I was lucky enough to see rhinos on my visit, visit the beach and game drive all on the same day. Not many facilities in the park and bringing your own supplies would be strongly advised (except alcohol) which is banned.
All-in-all a great experience awaits.Written 29 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We were very lucky and got to see a whole family of 8 individuals with a baby hippo.
The where in the water and then got out just in front of us. Fantastic. We also saw a bunch of birds and some crocodile and iguanas. Fantastic experience. We were all very satisfied and our guide from shakabarkertours was great!Written 7 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The guides (Sam was my guide) are patient and very knowledgeable. Horses are lovely and safe/sturdy. You can choose your pace.
We came across zebra, warthog, impala, duiker and baboons. Loads of birdlife.
Beautiful surrounds.
I will also try the beach ride in the future (it is tide dependent).
Highly, highly recommend Bhangazi Horse Safaris.
Admin staff were also super-helpful.Written 3 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is worth a visit if you are in the area. Affordable entrance fee. - NomadsNaturePretoria, South Africa234 contributionsThe vast beaches are clean and remarkably free from pollution and litter. Poles with lifesaving buoys mark swimming areas. There were no lifeguards on duty. The facilities were clean and well-kept.Written 20 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Maxine M43 contributionsA brilliant visit. Despite there only being four of us we had the full experience with insights into Zulu culture and life with a tour of Zulu accommodation and camp activities. We were all dressed in Zulu costumes and had some great photos and the whole day was rounded off with some excellent dancing. Everyone there made our visit so memorable and I would recommend this very highly to anyone.Written 14 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bill H4 contributionsJust had a wonderful 2 days of touring Cape Town and all the beautiful sights and suburbs around it with Lori Kelly! She was everything we had hoped for in a tour guide and more! Always on time, professional, kept the van sparkling clean and most importantly, she made everything lots of fun! We saw so many things we wanted to including The Cape of Good Hope, The Boulders Beach Penguins, many of the beautiful coastal towns on the Cape, and a tour of Cape Town itself where we learned so much about South African history. We always felt safe with Lori and she became part of our family very quickly! We could not recommend her more highly after our trip and can’t wait to come back and tour with her again!! Thank you Lori for making The Heagy Family’s Cape Town experience so amazing!!
(She also provided us with invaluable information for our stay in the Durban area! She is the best whether driving you around or helping you plan on your own!)Written 4 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Not only did he find leopard but also several hyena, Buffalo, zebra, various buck and of course chameleons. Just missed an elephant crossing the road (evidenced by the line of dung droppings) as we were absorbed watching the young leopard marking his territory.Written 6 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NMcG0107Sydney, Australia4 contributionsHeritage Tours & Safaris, Half Day iSimangaliso Wetland Park & Cape Vidal safari.
Our guide (naturalist) Siya was both professional and knowledgeable. We had a once in a lifetime encounter with an elephant bull, and although we didn't snorkel at Cape Vidal beach (out of choice), we enjoyed watching a pod of whales from the beach. Well worth it, Siya made every effort to find game, water buck, kudu, buffalo, zebra and more.
Sunset drive and Half Day Hluhluwe drive (giraffe, rhino and lion) also superb, as was Shoreline Hippo and Croc Boat Cruise. Highly recommend Heritage Tours & Safaris.Written 3 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Odyssey576312323253 contributionsWe did both the fish trap kayaking tour, and the aquarium snorkelling... What amazing trips, highlights of our stay in Kosi Bay! I would highly recommend both.
