Want a get away from lots of people and enjoy walking miles and miles on the beach without seeing anyone. This is the place. Just loved the views, water, snorkeling and the weather. Stay at Thonga Beach Lodge to really enjoy it all and get the most out of the experience. Amazing location and lodge. The staff is awesome.

You probably can't visit St Lucia without doing something related to the estuary. We took the boardwalk to the mouth (we were told it hasn't been open in 18 years due to low rainfall and human interference).Watch out for crocs and hippo, which you might run into! We also did a boat cruise up the estuary, beautiful, but unfortunately ruined by a white T shirt clad party who did not respect the other guests, Covid protocols or the guide trying to share info on the surroundings with us. Their only interest were selfies (is this called self interest?).If you can, enquire about a boat only large enough for your party. Nevertheless the area is breathtaking.

Clean sand with nice view of the ocean and the sand dunes. Very good for sunbathing. Not that suitable for swimming because the waves become stronger sometimes.

We called by the village on the off chance that we could visit without prior booking and were greeted warmly and it was no problem at all. As a family of four we then had our own private tour.
The tour was a perfect mix of an interesting insight into Zulu lifestyle and traditions as well as humour and participation. The dancing at the end was a real highlight. Highly recommended.

A beautiful experience visiting the centre especially since we were treated to feeding time on Saturday.
Well priced, guides are friendly & very knowledgeable. My grandson was even allowed to hold a baby croc.

After being closed for so long, there were empty enclosures with signs of animals still displayed but no animals. Signs should be updated t state same.

Desk staff didn't offer a guided trip, we had to ask.

We stayed in one of the safari tents at Mpila camp, the tent and kitchen (linked with the deck) have everything you need and to make your stay comfortable. It was tidy, clean and the kitchen was well equiped. Monkeys, hyena and even a lion on your front step, as well as a Warthdog under our tent. This is a gem in a well mantained park. This was my second time in Hluhluwe and Mpila camp with no fence is a bucketlist item.....

Morning trip to Cape Vidal, a bit expensive for 2 people just taking a drive, but beautifully clean, saw a few zebra's etc. Toilets clean.

I'd been to Kruger only a few days before, so wondered if I was going to see anything I'd not already seen, and in fairness I didn't, but it was still a memorable experience that I'd recommend - if only because it was more laid back and compact. Well worth the drive and the experience.

Safari & Surf basically took care of all our activities. Everything was well organized and really the only way to experience the area is with Rick, his knowledge of the birds, fish, insects, fauna and flora means you leave with a new appreciation of the area. Thanks for going the extra mile Rick!

This had to be one of our best safari's that we've taken. Our guide Johan was friendly, patient, and courteous. He picked us up from the guesthouse, provided us with warm ponchos (very handy in the middle of winter) and took us to the park. He was very knowledgeable about the park, fauna and flora and conservation issues. He had eyes like a hawk, and we would have missed several sightings if it wasn't for him!! Thanks to Johann we had two sightings of cheetah and the endangered bateleur among the many other animals we spotted! Breakfast and lunch was well prepped. He really made the day very special.

Our experience of heritage tours was fantastic. All the staff we encountered were extremely polite and friendly and the whole trip ran very smoothly. Bev was very helpful and efficient with regards to responding via email and WhatsApp before the trip which made planning stress-free. Our transfers picked us up from where we had been staying (near Durban) and then dropped us off at the airport door. It was a 2.5 hour transfer which was very smooth despite the rain (thank you Vusi!). The accommodation was excellent and we received excellent service at Heritage House (thank you Thea). We did the 2-day safari experience which consisted of a boat trip, sunset safari, whole-day safari and also wetlands safari and beach experience. We were fortunate enough to have the same tour guide for all our safari trips - Senzo was amazing. He was friendly and polite as well as extremely knowledgable and went out of his way to try and find us the animals we wanted to see. He really made our safari experience amazing - thank you so much Senzo and all at Heritage Tours.

This was our second trip to the gem of a town St Lucia - one of the few places in the world I am sure where you have the bush (safari for overseas visitors) and the beach - all in one place. Kian and his team are extremely knowledgeable, passionate and professional. The tours r absolutely fantastic. We have done so many now and many more than once. The sunset and sunrise Estuary tours r beautiful. The game drives r definitely highlights. The night drive is spectacular. My teenagers absolutely love the Unimog. I don’t know how Kian spots those tiny chameleons. We stayed at EcoLodge for both visits - the food is great and the beds are really comfortable with quality linen. We will definitely be back. Hopefully Jan 2022 and would love to do the overnight Turtle tour - definitely a bucket list item. Thanks to everyone at Shakabarker for making both our holidays truly spectacular.

A truly amazing experience, suitable for even our "ouma" of 78, with too many parts to pin point as a favorite. The scenery is definitely at the top of the list together with our two amazing guides Mohanka and Deoné as well as the fantastic horses we were privileged to ride. I would highly recommend Bhangazi Horse Safaris with Mohanka and Deoné as guides for any future travelers, you will not be disappointed. One of the activities I will never forget. A big thank you to our guides for making it an unforgettable experience.
