A masterclass in getting things right.  The South African National Parks might have the worlds best national park.  Truly excellent facilities, easily accessible from the smallest of cars to SUVs.  No special equipment required to visit here.

The game is in abundance around the park which covers an enormous area.  Besides the Big 5, the park offers excellent camps and outstanding views all strategically placed around the park in very convenient areas.

This is my second self drive visit and I would highly recommend this sanitised adventure to anyone looking to immerse themselves in the beautiful park with all it has to offer.

Awesome staff. Best cave tour. By far the best zipline experience ever! They are so helpful and friendly. It was my friend's first time zip-lining. They were so friendly and helped her so nicely.

Amazing sanctuary with true compassion to help these beings live a more natural life free from their ugly human beginnings. Please make this a stop in your itinerary to support these incredible beings. Jane Goodall is a true hero.

It is a beautiful place, we also did some hiking within the park. There are unexplored areas facing the Riverside Mall. It is breath-taking immediately after the rain. A must-see!

The Wilderness Expedition was simply awesome. We saw all the animals advertised. We would go back tomorrow.

Have just returned from an absolutely magical 5 day safari with Mbombela Tours. I cannot emphasise how amazingly we were looked after by Muzi and Mylord!!!!

Our pick up from Hazy View was so easy as Muzi was already there waiting for us. He then entertained us all the way to Pretoriuskop with lots of tips and tales about game viewing.

The camp was lovely! Only 6 tents tucked away in a corner of Pretoriuskop near to the ablution block. The tents were larger than expected and there was plenty of room under the bed and at the bottom of the bed for luggage. We were entertained daily by Cape starlings, crested barbets, a crested Francolin, a Karrachine thrush, tree squirrels and a dwarf mongoose.

For our first game drive, we were treated to an evening drive with the Sancamp guides’ manager, Pat. It was incredible! Although it was pouring with rain, we found elephant, a puff adder, lions, a hyena and even a chameleon in the dark!!!

We were greeted back at camp by Muzi with a candlelit dinner comprising chicken casserole, potatoes, a wealth of different vegetables and a salad. Every night we were also presented with a lovely bottle of wine and a large bottle of water. He also put the electric blankets on for us as we were cold and damp after our trip in the rain! Because of the rain, the lanterns and the fire pit couldn’t be lit but the electric blanket and the gorgeous meal made up for that! Muzi can cook!!!

The next morning tea, coffee and rusks were provided for us from 5.30am and we got to meet our guide for the next four and a half days, Mylord, the master of collective nouns! We learned about towers of giraffes, bloats of hippos and crushes of rhino during our stay!

Every day we went somewhere different and we easily found the big 4 (only the leopard eluded us but we saw the results of a leopard kill.). We fell in love with the Ugly 5, particularly hyenas, and we even made inroads into seeing the small 5! Breakfast was either a delicious continental breakfast or a cooked breakfast, followed by a delicious dinner on our return. We even had a BBQ on one night.

Muzi and Mylord couldn’t have worked harder to make our stay better. I can thoroughly recommend Mbombela Tours and we will definitely be back!!!
    Thanks, guys!!!!

From the initial planning to the multiple parks and wildlife sightings to the final farewell at the airport, Lawson's delivered a superb experience during our first trip to Africa. The logistics and guiding were top notch, the wildlife and bird viewing spectacular and the food and accommodations wonderful. The detailed planning made the transitions from place to place flawless and worry free. We truly did not have a care as we travelled because our guides took care of us so well. Friendly and accommodating, each guid really enhanced our understanding of this wonderful continent.

Like many others, first major travel since 2019/2020 and there was a fair amount of trepidation going into this.  A few false starts from home - it was difficult to find current information after the past 2 years.  Online reviews were years old and a couple of the agents we contacted didn't seem interested in assisting us with an itinerary -- until we got in touch with Wild Journeys.

I expected to leave a message and didn't hold out much hope for a callback but Jill answered the phone, put us through to Carl and we had a great first conversation!

Thank you Carl, Jill!!!  What a great way to start travelling again!!!

From our first conversation covering what we wanted to see, where we wanted to go, Carl's itinerary covered our want list and more.  We got history, glamping, big 5, delicious food, met with wonderful people and received amazing support from home when we needed it - (got caught in the Cape Town storm of the century.  Was totally surprised to have Carl contact us to see if we were okay because he saw that roads - N1, N2 - were closed.  I can't describe the feeling knowing that someone was looking out for us); forgot our camera at one of our safaris... Yes, Carl got it to us before we flew out.

Home now, just under 2 weeks and we're ready to go again (actually, mom wasn't ready to come home!).

Only feature missing was Carl as our guide (previous reviews, he was the guide) but the local guides he arranged for us were very good.

I was left with a free day in Nelspruit after a trip. I contacted Vula Tours and would like to thank them and particularly their guide Hans Swart who took me on a tour of the Panorama Route for the day, before dropping me at the airport. His knowledge of the area and the history made it a very enjoyable day. My grateful thanks.

Mornay was a knowledgable tour guide who took good care of me and my partner while we visited Kruger National Park. Mornay was himself passionate about wildlife and he shared voraciously about his knowledge of the animals we encountered as we drove through the safari. He knew instinctively how to approach animals safely and he successfully got us up close to see and hear a large male elephant! Beyond the wildlife, his general knowledge of South Africa also gave us a good glimpse of the local way of life. He also introduced us to fresh Biltong, which my partner and I fell in love with instantaneously. What a great snack to have while enjoying the safari!
