We reached out to Kruger Gateway for a last minute booking with absolutely everything else booked up. Gerrie went the extra mile and arranged for us a special private safari. Communication via Whatsapp was fast, prompt, and easy. It was an incredibly premium experience while being surprisingly affordable.
While other tours were bus loads crammed side by side, we had a personalized experience crafted specifically to our interests.

We have just completed an incredible 5 day experience with Viva Safaris. Organisation was meticulous and every staff member in the team from our pick up in Johannesburg, our guides, the kitchen and lodge staff were amazing. Food was delicious and we met great people from all over the world. This Safari exceeded our expectations and the team are there to make your experience unforgettable. Fantastic value for money.

We have not long returned from a 7 day safari and WOW! What an amazing trip. All the staff are a real credit to Viva safaris!

To start off, booking the trip was done with ease and even offering help with recommendations of places in Johannesburg to stay and attractions.

We were collected and dropped off by George who was extremely friendly. The drive is quite long but is made easier with a few stop offs and a lunch break. On the way home you stop at Blyde river canyon which the view is breathtaking!

When we arrived at Tremisana we were greeted by Ed who showed us to our rooms and provided our itinerary for the rest of the day.

Shortly after arrival we got straight into the action with a game drive along with a bush bbq in the middle which was great (even a hyena joined us!). Highly recommend doing the bush walk as it’s very exhilarating seeing animals up close on foot! We enjoyed many other game drives in Balule game reserve to which we saw many animals up close, especially with the elephants!

We enjoyed two full days in Kruger which also provided so many great viewings with loads of animals. My favourite were seeing the wild dogs, two lions with two cubs and a huge herd of elephants cross the road right in front and behind our vehicle. I recommend binoculars as some animals can be further from the roads whereas others just walk across/ along the roads. The lunch stop is great at Kruger allowing time for some good food, drinks and shopping.

We also enjoyed the visiting the rehabilitation centre which was great to see some animals close up and very informative with the problems they face on a daily bases.

The lodges are basic but clean and comfortable which is all you need as after all you are in the bush! I enjoyed spending any spare time in the lapa area as just sitting there animals such as hyena, elephants and warthogs wondered past. My dad also thoroughly enjoyed a close encounter with the troublesome elephant that broke into the garden to enjoy the tree! The food choice is slightly limited but very tasty as it’s all fresh and home cooked.

The staff at Tremisana really go above and beyond to make your trip amazing and feel very welcome. The staff were always friendly and happy to help if you needed anything. The communication is exceptional by the staff providing your itinerary for that day or the next and is very well organised.

The guides are what make your holiday! All the guides we had were truly wonderful. They really try their hardest to give you amazing sightings as you cannot guarantee anything. All the guides were really passionate about the wildlife and you could see the enjoyment they experienced when they found animals for their guests to see. Each guide we had made our trip amazing and each of them have such great personalities which really make the drives so fun. Big thanks to them all Ray, Nadine, Victor, Luke, Lucky, KG and Andries.

We didn’t want to leave as this trip has given us many magical moments so much so, that we are already talking about how soon we can come back!

    Thank you Viva Safaris!

We had a wonderful tour! We where even lucky to see the Big Five and a Cheeta.

The thing that made our trip unforgettable was our guide Trevor! He had such a motivation to find a the animals and had lots of humor!

One final lesson: Everything is possible! But you need to have some luck on you’re side.

Interesting night drive. Didn’t see a lot but the Leopards made up for that. Our driver Selby that picked us up from our Lodge to take us to Paul Kruger gate to meet the truck was brilliant.

This was an absolutely wonderful introduction to a safari. We got picked up at our Johannesburg hotel and driven to Kholiwe lodge. We spent 2 nights there, going on 4 safaris into Kruger National Park.

Transportation: the drivers to and from the airport were on time, very polite, and accommodating. They answered our questions and stopped when breaks were needed.

Lodging: the accommodations were great. AC in the bedrooms made it comfortable. Meals were provided and were excellent. The rooms were clean and we felt safe when in the lodge. One day we fed a family of warthogs right at the front door. Another day a couple of silver monkeys came and we fed them. One of us even got the feed a kudu that came up to the lodge.

Safaris: the guide we had was Aubrey. He was amazing. He was in constant touch over the radio with other drivers to find the places to go in the park. Aubrey often would spot animals hidden in the bushes. We saw lions on each trip into the park. Elephants, including a herd with very young ones. Buffalo, zebras, giraffes, monkeys, baboons, hyenas, wild dogs, impalas, crocodiles, and many species of birds. It was incredible.

Management: Balanta Tours was in constant touch via WhatsApp. They answered questions we had from before we got picked up through the final day we were there. They offered to help with whatever we needed. Very good customer service.

Such an amazing day of exploring everything Kruger has to offer! Beautiful national park and so many animals to see! We saw giraffes, zebras, lions, leopards, elephants, hippos and so many more - including lots of babies!! We had Abraham N as our driver and he was incredible. We felt safe and well looked after, he went above and beyond to make sure we saw what we wanted to see and had the best views for all of our photos! Thank you so much Abraham! We will be back!

I booked this the night before and at the early morning pick up from my hotel in Maputo I was surprised to find that it was just me and the guide - Aylton. So I was lucky to get an individual experience. Aylton was great company and I really appreciated all his knowledge of the park and of the animals. It's a lot of looking and hoping a requires a lot of patience but in our 6 hours in the park I saw elephants, zebra, hippos, impala, kudu, wildebeest, crocodiles, warthogs, a lizard, a vulture, an eagle, a mongoose but probably the highlight was catching seeing some lions just 10 metres from the road, including a cub. I paid a premium as I was the only person that day but I feel it was well worth it as I might not get the chance to visit again.

When we were in Hoedspruit, we let My Africa Adventures arrange all our excursions for the week. We tried almost everything:

Hot Air Balloon, Massages, Afternoon Safari, Dinner in the Bush, Panorama Route, Jessica the Hippo, Quad Safari, Kruger Park, Elephant Interaction, etc. They even arranged a chef in our villa to prepare a six-course dinner with wine pairing.

They did an amazing job, communication was easy, and small changes were no issue at all. We can truly recommend them to everyone.
