The waterfall is definitely worth the trip and inaccessible without a boat. - chrisandhelenfry26 contributionsWe did the canoe and walk to the waterfall. It was really lovely. Peaceful and scenic river, easy walk mostly on boardwalks to the waterfall. We swam right up to the waterfall and there are other places to have a refreshing dip. It was well managed with friendly helpful staff. So it is safe to swim, where possible or kayak, particularly at a point where the river becomes wider and its mouth finds the ocean. The Kaaiman river is one of many that is meandering through the Cape Fold Mountains south of South Africa's central plateau. Some of the gorges it formed are of spectacular beauty. In the past a formidable obstacle for both indigenous people as well as the European settlers. The latter eventually managed to build stable bridges. The railway bridge (now defunct) near George is one them, meanwhile a historic attraction.

There is no words to describe the feeling hanging there touching nothing but air, not to mention the never before sight of view from up there!! It took him less than a week to sell all three and he immediately deposited the proceeds into my bank account. Excellent service indeed. Wilderness is lovely and it’s a great base from which to explore The Garden Route. They were recommended to us by Carmina at Pearl Moon Boutique Suites, Wilderness (also highly recommended) and they didn’t disappoint. They both are safe and courteous drivers and the vehicles we had were comfortable and of a high quality. From the moment we contacted them, they helped us to plan our route and they were highly flexible to our needs as we adjusted our priorities along the way. They shared with us a deep knowledge of the area and it was clearly important to them that they provided a first rate service. After spending 3 weeks in wilderness, with 12 lessons in total, Ryan helped me feel not just confident, but excited to get in the water. By the end of our trip we were cruising.
