We walked from Ushaka Marine Park along the promenade to South Beach which is very nice and easy for anyone in a wheelchair. The views of the beach were nice.

However, we felt very uncomfortable at the number of locals in large groups sitting on the grass opposite the beach, watching us. In fairness we were not approached by them but the sheer numbers and police presence made us very wary and we did not walk the whole of the mile. In addition we didn't go on the beach until we got back to Ushaka where we felt safer.

We enjoyed the beautiful country-side drive to the area and loved the visit to the reptile park. The restaurant was mediocre at best with poor service and okay food which most of which were "out" on the menu offered.

Casinos are great places to waste money. The house will always win and if you are slightly lucky you too may win

This seems to be in a congested area of town and getting in and out is difficult. The markets are small and crowded, most of them seem to have the same things. The incense that was burning mixed with the spices was hard on me personally and made me light headed. We spent about 20 mins in and saw what we wanted. I’m sure there is more, doesn’t seem like the best part of town, but I didn’t feel unsafe either.

In the poor city attractions of Durban, the beach is perhaps the most interesting. You can build skyscrapers and install attractions almost anywhere, but the Indian Ocean is not everywhere... This is the main advantage of Durban. Remembering similar beaches where I was, only Rio de Janeiro with its Copacabana and Ipanema, Korean Busan and Miami Beach came to mind. Perhaps Rio is geographically and culturally closer to Durban. It is also unsafe and not very equipped. But it's still very beautiful!

We weren't quite sure whether visits could be accommodated but having been directed by one of the shop owners we stepped into this oasis in the middle of a super busy area of town.

We had a wonderful guide who showed us through the mosque and explained the way of worship in a practical and interesting way.

Definitely a highlight on our trip to Durban.

Very pleasant atmosphere, and well located in an up-and-coming district. Local beadwork, textiles, and art in several mediums. Good place for browsing, viewing, shopping, or just talking with the local artists.

Great little market with a diverse number of stalls and second hand book shops

Great for a walk about with family and spend the afternoon.

The food stalls are not too bad and well priced.

Loved revisiting the Cathedral. Lots of history for my family so it was a wonderful nostalgic walk down memory lane. We also popped into the Archibishop Hurley Centre - so double whammy bonus

The church is next to Musgrave Centre Mall, its architectural building stand out from the rest of the buildings around the area, the inside is characterized by beautifully crafted stained glass windows, pictures of the station of the cross are beautiful and really tell a story of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

We walked through this shopping area to get to the beach from our bus stop. There are some lovley little gems of shops here, with really friendly staff. I found a nice dress displayed in a shop window, it was the only one in that print but the lady undressed the dummy without batting an eyelid...................now imagine that happening in the UK, very unlikley!

Choc-a-block with memorabilia from the time as well as from the two world wars and some maritime interest. The curator and a guide are very helpful and informative, and will get on with the tour if you feel they are being too expansive in certain parts. They are a treasure trove of information that makes the visit all the more worth while, than just walking around gawking at all the artifacts.
