We booked this safari because we didn’t have much time in Durban and even though it was only half a day we were able to see so much! Our tourguide Freddy was really friendly and could answer all our questions. During the safari he knew exactly where to look for the animals we were trying to see. I would really recommend this tour.

Our drivers were so cheerful and knowledgeable, and helped us all to feel comfortable for the whole trip. They were both very careful drivers and helped us to feel safe.

The first stop was the lion park, and the weather had been wet so the road was rutty and puddly, but the drivers, Kimba and Xolani, were very careful to make the drive around as safe as possible. We saw lions close by, and interacting together which was thrilling! The elephants were so friendly and it was great to get close to them.

Tala reserve was amazing! Kimba helped us to get the best seats on the safari bus, and our tour guide and driver, Milton, made the trip around the reserve so entertaining. Not only that, with his witty remarks, but he was very knowledgeable about the animals and where to find them. When we saw a tower of giraffes in the distance, he managed to bring us right by them. There were many species to see, all in their natural habitat, and it was wonderful to see zebras, various deer, wildebeest and rhino all grazing in close proximity to each other peacefully. We humans could learn a lot from them!

Phezulu was a lovely place to visit, the dancing presentation was fantastic and so entertaining in spite of the rain that came in the afternoon. The food there was delicious and more than adequate portions. The reptiles were fascinating too!

We would definitely recommend the tour led by Africa Sun Safaris to anyone wanting a great sightseeing experience, knowing we were so well looked after and kept safe all day, to enjoy all the activities. On the way home one of the cars broke down and our two drivers worked so well together to keep us safe, and deliver us back to our accommodation as quickly as possible.

All in all it was a fantastic day’s experience and a trip of a lifetime!

Another top day. Again comms during booking and afterwards top drawer. Had a brilliant trip up the estuary and saw loads of hippo and a wild croc which was exactly what the wife wanted to see.

Again, plenty of stops en-route to pick up food, drinks and loo stops which probably could be better mentioned on the website rather than just “lunch not supplied” etc. Be nice to know beforehand that there is opportunity to pick something up on the way.

Would highly recommend Tim and his team.

I don't know where to start. All in all this safari was the highlight of our trip! From the start, working with Justin the founder of Wild Routes was easy and great with communicating to us about pick up and drop off information, and was very speedy in replying when I had questions. Grant who transported us to the Amyoni reserve was a wealth of info about the region and also had great suggestions for us about other things to do for the rest of our trip. He was super courteous and very personable and started our day off right. Our game driver, Mzamo, who took us out on safari was very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna and very friendly and engaging. We did the one day big five safari and it didn't disappoint! Mzamo got us as close to the animals as he could while respecting safety. At one point we were within 3 meters of a lioness, and at another we were the just as close with a cheetah and her cubs while they were feasting on a freshly caught impala. It was amazing! We saw a wide variety of wildlife in the reserve, Giraffe, cheetah, Impala, wart hog, wilderbeast, zebra, rhino, lion, just to name a few. Just remember there is no guarantee what you'll see as this is not a zooand these are animals in the wild, but know that you will have an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend Wild Routes and it is a very good value for your hard earned money! Thank you Justin, Grant, and Mzamo for an amazing trip! We will be back again for sure.

Aaron was our guide and he did a serviceable job of showing us the sights of Durban and explaining some of the cultural history and important events in the history of the area. We also felt safe on our tour with him.

We had a very enjoyable day. Our guide Thami was very knowledgeable and he was happy to answer any questions we had, not just regarding the tour itself but about south Africa in general! We did not feel rushed at any of the sites. We booked the evening before and we were looked after very well, I popped the phone number on the booking confirmation a message and they confirmed we would be picked up the next morning from our hotel. Thami's driving was exceptional, we got stuck in traffic for a crash and he took a very interesting detour, which only added to the experience!
