We had a really fun day with Zulu Safaris!
Both my husband and I have been to the large game parks elsewhere in Africa, and almost decided to give this tour a miss because we didn't think it would compare with the large parks.
However, we had an absolute ball! Aaron our guide picked us up from our hotel, right on time, lovely and friendly.
First stop the Lion Park, yes it's small but you still get African lions right out your window! I hadn't realised the tour included hand feeding apples to a massive African elephant, so that was an entertaining surprise after viewing the lions. My husband and I climbed on the roof of the safari vehicle and Aaron took great pictures of our encounter with the elephant.
Then we drove to Tala Game Reserve, which was bigger than I expected. We were determined to find giraffes, and after about an hour of driving around we came across about 8 of them, including two babies, wandering across the track and hanging out in the bush. Really magical. Again Aaron made sure we got good photos and had the best view.
Absolutely no complaints from us, so glad we decided to go ahead with this tour on our last day in South Africa. Our only regret is not taking cash to be able to tip Aaron - being our last day we had run out of rand.
    Thanks so much Zulu Safaris!

Durban is an amazing city, but it does have its issues! This was my second time in Durban and I really did not want to spend it again in the immediate area of my hotel and being bused everywhere else. After researching the options available I settled on Johhny Matthews 'Cultural Walking Tour of Durban' what a fantastic decision this was. Six of us booked a morning tour (which turned out to be a private tour) with Johnny who has 30-plus years of experience in tourism and it shows. The tour is scheduled for 4/5 hours, ours was 6 hours for which we were very grateful (if you want it shorter, tell Johnny he is very accommodating).

I am writing this review as a guide myself. Because of Johnny's background and experience in tourism, he quickly assesses what his clients are interested in. He is a local and has a wealth of information on both Durban and South Africa, he gave us a wonderful insight into the history, culture, diversity, inclusion, changes (both positive and negative), and what he believes will be the future for Durban.

We rode with locals on the local taxi service (white minibusses) which is an experience all in its own. We went to a wonderful lookout point with great views over the city, we walked through the suburbs all the time Johnny telling us interesting details about the buildings the people, and the neighborhoods. Then we headed for the markets, the majority of people will tell you "Do Not Go To The Markets" and I would agree with them, unless you go with Johnny. Before we got to the markets he told us that there would be only 6 white people in the markets that day, and that would be us! Johnny has been running this tour for 11 years and all the traders appear to know him, he will tell you the Do's & Dont's before you enter the markets. In the markets (which are huge) we were met with smiles and shouts of "Shoot Me" meaning photograph me or selfie with me. We spoke with traders and Johnny was on hand to explain the different items on sale that we might not be familiar with. But remember, it is a market and people rely on sales to live, so if you can, please support them, even a little.

After the markets, we headed to North Beach for lunch overlooking the beach and the Indian Ocean arranged by Johnny.

I know this has been a long review, but I believe it was needed to try to get across the wonderful experience we had on this tour, at no time did we feel uncomfortable or in danger. Six hours seems a lot but it flew by. Johnny Matthews is a wonderful guide and ambassador for Durban and South Africa. If you are thinking of doing a walking tour of Durban, then I highly recommend that you do this one.

Another top day. Again comms during booking and afterwards top drawer. Had a brilliant trip up the estuary and saw loads of hippo and a wild croc which was exactly what the wife wanted to see.

Again, plenty of stops en-route to pick up food, drinks and loo stops which probably could be better mentioned on the website rather than just “lunch not supplied” etc. Be nice to know beforehand that there is opportunity to pick something up on the way.

Would highly recommend Tim and his team.

Loved the trip and Durban. Fortune was a kind and very courteous driver, patient and ready to provide solutions where help was not forthcoming for example at the Durban Gardens, he became the guide and at the John Dube Center (it was raining too). He was a young happy soul with good suggestions and ideas.

Aaron was our guide and he did a serviceable job of showing us the sights of Durban and explaining some of the cultural history and important events in the history of the area. We also felt safe on our tour with him.

The tour was so great. I had a jam packed day of visiting both parks and my guide Zamani was excellent. During the drive he took the time to teach me about Zulu culture and the history of South Africa. The parks themselves were beautiful and amazing I saw almost all of the big 5 and also some hippos during the relaxing boat tour.

We used Endless Summer Tours in February and went to the Tala Game Reserve. We had the best time. Rhys was a great guide. He made sure we had great views of all the animals and he made the time searching for animals. This was a wonderful tour. I would highly recommend this company.

Like most day safaris you must expect a lot of driving with occasional wildlife sightings. It can be tiring and hot so you should expect this. Saw zebras, all kinds of deer, Kudu, water buffalos, warthogs, a couple elephants & giraffes. Also some white rinos was very nice. Being Valentines day the Rino decided to mate for us. Cute.
Great experience. We had a picnic nice lunch. Watch out for Baboons.
