Going on the Soweto day trip with the Philippians Tour Group this week was a deeply emotional experience for me. As a political activist in the 1980s and 1990s for almost 20 years, it was an evocative journey down memory lane.

Our guide, Nathi, was sensitive and empathetic to the needs of the group. His quiet collaboration with personalized guides at each of the touch points - from Constitution Hill, to the Nelson Mandela House, to Vilakazi Street and the Regina Mundi Church in Soweto - created an utterly inspiring and deeply poignant experience for my family visiting from Australia and Switzerland.

Spending this day with my business partner, Jabu Zwane, with whom I do transformation work in South Africa, was a deeply meaningful experience that bonded us together and created an unforgettable day that was rooted in the anguish of the past and the hope for the future.

Thank you for an experience that was both very professional and deeply personal. I am so glad that we chose Philippines 4:13 Tour Group, whose guiding message is “ I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. It deeply inspired me in my walk of faith to make a difference in this country.

We recently had Joburg and Soweto tour for a group of 15 people with Philippians tour agents, and we couldn’t have been happier with their service. The entire team was incredibly professional throughout the planning process. The CEO Ms Solly was friendly, approachable, and always available to assist us, no matter the time or question.

Their valuable suggestions added so much to our trip, helping us create an itinerary that truly catered to our group’s interests. The rates they offered were competitive, making it a great value for the experience we received.

Our guides, Nattie and BoBo, were exceptional. They were not only friendly and approachable but also extremely knowledgeable. They explained the history and significance of each location with great detail, making the tour both informative and engaging. They were also very flexible, accommodating our group’s needs and ensuring everyone had an enjoyable experience.

We highly recommend Philippians tour agents to anyone planning a trip. Their professionalism and dedication to customer satisfaction are unmatched!

Thabo was an amazing guide!! He was very nice and explained everything there is to know about Soweto. Soweto is a beautiful place that deserves to be more famous. Wether it is visiting Mandela house, having a traditional lunch and much more, Soweto is a must when you come to Johannesburg.

An excellent tour. I went solo and felt very safe with my guide and learned so much about Soweto. I would highly recommend this tour.

We only had one day in Johannesburg, and this was the perfect tour to give us a great overview of the city and a lot of its history. Our tour guide Mo was amazing, as a tour guide and as a person. I am very grateful to have met and learned from him. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Johannesburg.

We stayed at the Radisson in Sandton in Johannesburg, which was well protected and supplied a safe shuttle service (9am to 10.30pm) to the Mall by Mandela Square, which had great shopping and lots of Restaurants. Unfortunately the hotel did not have Baileys at the bar.
Our pick up driver from the airport was excellent guide, who advised on the do's and don'ts of daily living in Joburg. We also took a private tour of Soweto which was an eye opener to say the least but we learned so much and felt very safe.
Overall we learnt that it is not safe to walk around the city after dark unless with locals or guides.

From start to finish, this was a wonderful experience! We live in Johannesburg, but there’s nothing quite like taking a guided tour with the wind in your hear at the top of a comfortable tour bus, hearing all about the city we call home through the tour guide in our earpieces. Every member of the team was amazing - warm, welcoming, friendly, and a fabulous ambassador for the Hop-On Hop-Off experience and the city itself. Highly recommended, whether you’re from out of town or just looking for something different, fascinating, fun and affordable to do in your own back yard.

Interesting tour of Soweto including stops at FNB stadium, Vilakazi Street, Mandela's House, Hector Peterson memorial, and Regina Mundi church. Our guide Mo was very friendly and knowledgeable. At the end of the tour he dropped us at the Apartheid Museum which is also well worth a visit.

We had a terrific Johannesburg highlights tour! As a group of 17 family members, our guide Khotso was informative, fun, and accommodating. He answered all of our questions and made perfect use of our limited time. Thank you for a great day!

The tour was great. Maweza knows so much and so many people! Bontle holds her own and will be great when she starts leading the tours. I think the way they set the tour up is perfect. It is important to see all the facets of this society and to hear the history that lead to it. I am glad they do not shy away from showing us the poverty that is a part of Soweto and South Africa. I would highly recommend this tour. The food we were given was delicious. And there was vegetarian option. The bus ride was a unique part.

We loved our tour with Kgaogelo. She was informative and educated about so many things related to Soweto and SA more generally. We went with our 9, 11, and 14 year-olds. Our walking tours through a Soweto informal settlement and Mandela’s home were particular highlights.

We just finished a full-day private tour with Tinyiko. We were able to go everywhere we asked, which included Johannesburg, Soweto, Pretoria, and the Cradle of Humankind. We enjoyed his knowledge of the sites and country's history, including pre-historic detail. All in all a full, informative and pleasant day. We enjoyed every minute.

Visiting Soweto and learning about the rich culture and bravery of the Soweto community was such a blessing.
Lebo (our guide) and Murundeni (our driver) helped us to feel welcomed and comfortable. We learned so much about the beautiful history of Soweto that will never be forgotten. The bike riding through the city and having lunch was amazing. It Truly was an enriching experience!
