If you want to learn about the rich history of the area and the current day lifestyle, do this tour. Very eye opening. Your guide is like talking to a history teacher. They take you places other tours don't go. Highly recommended if you really want to know Johannesburg.

A really memorable day in Johannesburg with this local company.
Our guide Tsholo arrived on time and greeted and introduced himself to our party of four. Straight away you could see he was a very friendly guy, neat and tidy and the vehicle was immaculate. We done the Joburg and Soweto tour which was an all day tour with quite a few stops and all the time Tsholo was very passinate with his work and his country. He is very informative, humerous and very knowledgeable about the history, both poitical and industrial in the area.
The highlight for us was the opportunity to have a short guided tour of one of Soweto's large poor shanty towns. The guide here was a 20 year old young man who explained how they live in these places awaiting an opportunity to be rehoused in a proper dwelling. He also was very friendly and proud of his heritage. To be able to have this rare opportunity of the tour Stephensons company donates a percentage of the cost of our tour ticket to this community to aid in schooling for these children.
Cold water provided all day as well. We were taken to a local restaurant for lunch, which also was very good.
We would highly recommend this company for any tours or shuttle services they provide. It isn't a big company and if the rest of the staff are like Tsholo you can't possibly have a bad experience.

My experience was amazing. High winds caused the balloon trip to be canceled the night before. While we were disappointed not to be able to take the ride, Stuart offered to provide an alternative itinerary for us so that we were not stuck in our hotel for a day on short notice. The options he provided were awesome for our family and he gave us the highest quality tour of some of the Jo-berg highlights on the way to our destinations.

I highly recommend his company and hope to get that balloon ride in the next time I am in town.

Nokia did an amazing job at showing us the beautiful art that was in the Maboneng precinct. I had never seen such street art before. The food was great too. Make sure to come hungry!

We had an late evening flight and decided to go on a half day tour in Johannesburg with Pastor. Absolutely the right decision!
Everything was perfect, starting from the on time pickup to the tour itself. We learned way more than expected and seen so many different places of Johannesburg. Pastor obsolete knew how to show the differences of Johannesburg that you encounter within few hundred meters.
    100% recommended!

Tim pick us up at our remote accommodation (way out of the usual pick up) and took us to the tour. We had a very nice chat in the ac mini van. He offered tea, coffee , water and biscuits! We had a lovely tour with our guide and we saw giraffes, impalas, ostriches, wildebeest and monkeys! The tour lasted 2 hours and Tim was even there when we took a break and he took some pictures of us! It was a great morning and Tim was very knowledgeable of his country! Would recommend this tour and Tim!

We saw lots of animals and had a wonderful driver who did everything he could to make sure we saw the big 5. Unfortunately we did not get to see Rhinos but were lucky enough to see a pride of lions right before they left their resting spot by the river. However, if we had been in the park for opening at 5.30am I stead of being picked up from our accommodation at 5.30am, we could have seen the lions sooner and for longer.
The accommodation provided at a nearby lodge was lovely but food was average at best. No alcohol provided at the lodge but breakfast boxes were given for morning drives.

Out driver Nick who picked us up in Johannesburg was so lovely and filled us in with lots of information about the history of South Africa, different animals, languages spoken, history, culture, the local industries and areas etc. enroute and made us feel really welcomed amd safe.

The name of my tour guide was Life, fluent in English, very knowledgeable, descent gentleman. Though I’m a South African learned a lot about our history from Life. I was the only one but felt very safe throughout the tour.

Our guide, Stephen, was an independent guide, meaning he didn't work directly for Ulysses. Very knowledgeable, young guy, open to answering our questions about life in So Africa. The reserve was amazing!! The animals were so close to the car - zebra, ostrich, vultures, rhinos with babies, wild dogs, cheetah and 2 kinds of lions! We waited for feeding time - yikes - not to be missed if you want to have a feeling of being on the Discovery channel. We didn't have time to go on a safari, so this was a very satisfying substitution.

The picture on this website for the tour is of a tiger which is not in the park.
