- Deborah G2 contributionsWe were picked up early in the morning at our hotel by a wonderful guide, Norman. The trip was extremely pleasant, Norman is a wealth of knowledge! He went out of his way to make sure we got the most out of our visit, even treating us to an extra visit with the Meerkats, one of my favorite animals! He even stopped off at a grocery store for us on the way back to our hotel!
We learned a lot about South Africa from Norman and visiting the sanctuary was a dream come true for me. There really are no words to describe the feeling that overcame me upon interacting with the elephants. I was so thrilled to see these majestic creatures being so cared for, knowing they had been rescued.
It was also so heart-warming to see monkeys who had been kept as pets and working animals having the chance to live almost normal lives in a natural environment.

Saw the usual number of animals, and fortunate to see 10 Rhinos, including mum and baby you took their time to watch these curious tourists from Australia.
Hundreds of elephants, including a male, with only one tusk, who made us reverse for quite some distance - which sent our Blood Pressure soaring. In the end we realised that he was just clearing the path on the road so that his herd could go down to the water. Brilliant and exciting. Denise and David Schokman. Perth. It was a very comprehensive tour, and it was a very comfortable way of getting around all the cities. Because of poaching, it has meant that a few things have been altered, but all has been done for the good of the animals. Thabo was an excellent guide. Really knowledgeable and friendly. Made the tour even better. I only had one afternoon free in Johannesburg, so being able to fit this in was great. He showed us highlights of the city with a few short stops en route to Soweto. Such a interesting visit to a small community to see how so many people live in tin- roof homes. We saw a local kindergarten. I loved the Mandela house. Super lunch as well. - Brandon7 contributionsWonderful Safari if you are short on time. Our driver “Rasta” was excellent and fun. The safari was fantastic in that we were able to see most of the largest animals including hippo and rhino in about 3 hours. We were also taken to an amazing restaurant (not included in ticket price) after for an incredible lunch just minutes away at a house ranch.
