- Ben ReidMarloth Park, South Africa6 contributionsI love Rietvlei Nature Reserve for its array of birding and wildlife it is a good 45 minute drive but that is fine bathrooms need workWritten 10 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- GeneralShamuNew York City, NY768 contributionsSpent a full morning and half an afternoon doing two of the trails back to back. The Krokodilberg trail is the one labeled as ‘difficult’ so do that first - especially as early a start in the morning as is feasible. Even though this was labeled as ‘difficult’ it was anything but. On a scale of 1-10, where 10 is the hardest, this probably ranked a 4 to a max of 5. That’s coming from someone who hikes regularly while traveling but rarely exercises while not on vacation. If you are overweight and struggle to go up a couple flights of stairs then don’t bother with this trail as you’ll end up taking one of the exit routes along the way. Didn’t see any animals but did see a lot of birds, flowers and insects. Total time for the first trail was 4hr20min (with multiple rests, photo opportunities, etc…).
The Zebra trail is decidedly easier. It is probably a 2 on the same aforementioned scale of difficulty, or lack there of. We spent a solid two hours and ten minutes to do this trail but that was because we stumbled upon a herd of zebra and the lone wildebeest that joined them to munch on grass. Watching them behave entirely naturally with no safari jeeps surrounding them, ogling tourists, etc… was something we couldn’t pass up on (solid 20+ minutes).
Total time for the two trails with a break in between is ~7.5 hours tops.Written 2 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Chris A1 contributiongreat place to visit with friends and family. Down size are the random people on the trail with speakers and Los music.

It caters for everyone from young to old. The aquarium is my favourite place to be. There are snack shops spread evenly in the farm ,the food at the main are quick and edible.Written 13 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

The exhibits rival those of an art museum and lots of information and context is provided along the way, as visitors are exposed to events that formed the South Africa of today. To adequately take in the museum, S’khumbuto (main memorial for 8 conflicts that shaped South Africa) and Isivivane (a sacred, spiritual resting place for those who played a part in liberating the country) expect to spend at least 3 hours there. The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful. Although we did not try it out, there is also a restaurant.Written 18 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Breamworthy Wal... MPretoria, South Africa141 contributionsSince the begging of COVID-19 and lockdowns I have stayed away from the place and only visited it once the lockdown was eased sometime last year. At the time the park looked like a mini jungle and desseted.
So this year wheyi visited, it looked better than the last time. Lawn cut, new flowers planted and trees also trimmed. The restaurant, also looks fresher, with. slight changes there and there. The only sad thing is that, the tree that was like a trademark crossing over the stream has been totally removed, it used to be liked by kids using it to cross over the stream and couples posing for pictures next to it or on top of it, especially the ladies ( see screenshot).
As usual there were a number of gruops celebrating birthday parties. At least, there was no littering of the stream this time, maybe is the effectiveness of the pictures we were posting in the past,
The visitors were of mixed races and ages, and as usual dog lovers were also present taking a walk with their dogs.
All in all I enjoyed my time under the sunny weather and clean environment and hope it will remain like that.Written 2 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - rubenmuller1959Pretoria, South Africa10 contributionsWell maintained, and in good condition, lots of different birds, Bird food can be purchased at the restaurant, and the views over the small lake, while having a snack at the restaurant is beautiful.Written 14 July 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Christopher van der Westhuizen1 contributionA well paved hike that loops from the picnic area around the Wonderboom or "Wonder-tree" all the way to the ruins of Fort Wonderboompoort at the top of the mountain. The hike was about 3km round-trip, water and sunscreen is recommended. The fort was built in the 1890's by the ZAR to defend Pretoria and the views of the city are incredible.Written 13 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
