a visit to the house is very interesting, but the displays at the rear were even more interesting as the related to the Boer war seen from a different view to the British one

The displays are informative, but a lot of the functions and extras are not working. A person can see that the museum was very good a while back, but it is not being maintained properly. Still worth it though.

If you are not an art lover do not visit. I enjoy certain art but the visit was not one of my best moments.

The art was beautiful and inspiring, BUT the food was outstanding. The attention to detail on the plates did not go unnoticed. The spinach pie was delicious and the apple danish ended the meal on the right note. I highly recommend this gem.

As we asked a friend for a good location to make good panorama pictures of Jacaranda Blooming in Pretoria he recommended us to drive up to Fort Klapperkop. So we did and did not regret it. You get a nice Panoramic view over the city. The fort itself is also worth visiting. Everything is wel kept and maintained. Nice place to have pick-nick too.

We went with a group of other families to this museum. It was very interesting to compare it to Sammy Marks Museum which is very luxurious compared to this house. You can get a real glimpse of how they lived. They even made bread in an old bread oven which you could buy to take home. They also gave us some bread and jam with tea. There isn't too much to see but the guide was very informative and made it a very interesting outing.

Visited the museum on a Saturday afternoon. Was surprised to be only visitors, the museum had to be opened for us.
Informative, especially with displays relating to primary school history work. For this I urge all parents to bring the children to the museum. Children tend to understand and gasp information quicker when they can relate. Disappointed that our primary school did not arrange such a day trip for the scholars.
    Bring your camera! !!
Unfortunately bathroom are not very clean, and there is no restaurant, tuck shop or gift shop.

Here is the spot where you can see 1. The South 32 art collection (old Gencor); 2. Currently the amazing Willem Boshoff exhibition 3. The Mapungubwe gold artifacts 4. The Anglo Gold Ashanti collection of gold artifacts from West Africa.

So it is a wonderful and eclectic set of collections - staffed by kind and engaged staff... even the security guards will give your advice and tips!!

It cost R150 to go in per adult ... so not cheap, but it is very quiet and was empty on a Sunday afternoon. The building design is also very interesting and creative

To see the Mapungubwe Rhino was just brilliant and so see the crazy brilliance of Boshoff was a treat

The Claude Malan Museum is situated in Gauteng, Pretoria in South Africa. It is a well known Military Museum, popular amongst locals and visitors. It is a little piece of heaven for historians and a collectors' dream. The museum if filled with great artefacts and interesting items. There is so much to see from cameras, antique furniture, books, art, diamonds, gold, silver and many many more.

Small Art Gallery that is situated in Waterkloof, Pretoria.
They deal in Contemporary Art and Old Masters and will assist with framing bought pieces and art work that needs to be reframed.

The area aound the Transvaal Museum includes Melrose House , Burgers Park , Pretoria City Hall,The Children's Museum , Natural Cultural History Museum , Museum of Science and Technology , and the State Library all within a few City blocks of each other and linked by Paved walkways with signs directting tourists to the respective Museums included.

It is the largest focal point of Cultural resouces in Africa.

It is for this reason the area is known as the Mall of Museums ( Museum Mall )

There has been talk by the City Council for the benefit of Tourists ( Particularly those from Overseas ) of keeping out undesireable elements ( Beggars and pickpockets ) by fencing off and charging an entrance fee the area including historic buildings around Pretoria Church Square and seperately the area known as Museum Mall .

It is a part of the City and thus the city roads are available for you to use your car to get to each of the included Museums which each have their own secure Car parks.

Each Museum seperately administered and charges own entrance fee and all maintain a high standard and each is worth viewing.

Some people rave about Edoardo Villa, others vomit at the sight of his art. If you are into modern odd shaped industrial art pieces, do visit.
