Wonderful experience with our friendly guide! We had the rare opportunity to see 4 of the 12 cheetahs! Driver to and from Pilanesburg was extremely skilled😁

Buffalo Solider was our tour guide, a very knowledgeable and friendly individual. He knew exactly where to find the animals and gave background information on each one we saw. It is a matter of luck to see each animal but overall an amazing experience, would definitely recommend this experience to anyone.

Quite cold in the morning but quickly warmed up so be advised if planning on taking a trip in June.

Would highly recommend this tour. Jason is a great guy and it was fantastic chatting about the area on the way to the park - he is very knowledgable. I've done a few safaris across Africa and can say Pilanesburg had the highest concentration of elephants/rhinos I've seen. Nico was a very good guide and we learnt a lot on the safari about the park and the different animals. The entire day was very well organised.

The trip was amazing and good organized. We saw all animals we wanted to see in the Kruger Park. One evenening and morning drive was perfect as we saw different animals and a incredible sunset.

Even our special dietary requirements were fulfilled.

A big thank you to our tourguides Sebe and Alfred who took care about us and explained so much.

I can highly recommend the tour with Balanta.

The safari was fantastic. I absolutely loved seeing the aminals and learning about them.

The highlight for me was seeing a pride of lions sleeping after eating.

I also really loved going to the rehabilitation center. The aniamls were in enclosures but we were able to get very close to them. This place isn't a zoo. If an animal can be rehabilitated and released in to the wild, it is. Visitors are not able to see those animals so they don't get used to humans. Some animals are too severely injured to live in the wild, or they were rescued but already too used to humans so it wouldn't be safe to release them. The center provides a place for these animals to live. All the animals seemed very happy and well taken care of.

Victor was our guide in Kruger. He was absolutely incredible! I am so thankful that we got him as our guide. He was fun and informative, giving all kinds of interesting information about each animal we saw. Victor knew we wanted to see lions, so he made sure to talk to other cars and ask if they'd seen any lions around. Victor's networking worked because first thing after lunch, he drove us to some lions! I also appreciated that he gave us plenty of time to view the animals and that I didn't feel rushed at all.

Sharl from Katekani also helped to make my safari experience special. I wrote a separate review for Katekani Lodge itself, but Sharl deserves a shout out in this review as well. He talked to the guests every day and shared so many stories and fun facts. Talking with him was definitely a highlight of my whole trip!

Overall, I would definitely recommend Viva Safaris.

Would highly recommend this sanctuary to learn about cheetahs. Get there early in the morning to experience the cheetah run which was very different and interesting.
The sanctuary however has more to its facility then just cheetahs, there is a wide range of animals from serval and wild dogs to hyenas and vultures.
The staff were very informative about the animals and conservation efforts throughout the sanctuary and seemed genuinely concerned with the conservation and well being of all their animals.

Stephenson was amazing and made our one day around Johannesburg a wonderful start to our first experience of South Africa. We were just off the plane, and by the end of the day we had had a great experience in the caves and the museum of the Cradle of Mankind. He is incredibly knowledgeable, with several degrees behind him and one more he wants to complete, and he made sure we had everything we wanted and needed to make it a great day. But I am most grateful to him for also gently teaching us so much about how to appreciate and enjoy South Africa as well. From this first day we loved the places and the peoples of the country - much due to Stephenson's welcome.

I had a solo tour with MK and it was wonderful. The actual "tour" is really just private transport to the Sanctuary, but MK added so much more so it would be a real tour.

He told me about each area we drove though, and drove over the dam so I could see the beautiful view with a large waterfall. We stopped at a craft market for some shopping on the way to the Sanctuary, and he planned a lunch at the Lion Park after the Sanctuary visit.

The Sanctuary exceeded my expectations, and I got to directly interact with the elephants, monkeys, and lemurs. The whole staff ther made sure I enjoyed my visit, and took many pictures of me with the animals using my camera.

Be prepared with cash in Rands to give as tips to all the staff (tour guides and a group of animal handlers).

Also be aware that at the craft market they are extremely pushy and insist that you purchase things. They keep placing items into your hands trying to get you to buy them without even looking around. It was nice of MK to include the additional stop, but if I went again I would stay in the car.
