This full dal safari tour with the folks from Addo Game Drives was very pleasant. The overall experience, from the moment of booking to the completion of the tour, was very comfortable and satisfying. Clint offered all the support needed before the tour and during the safari our guide Langton was super kind and extremely helpful, a very nice guy who contributed a lot to the experience as a whole. I definitely would recommend the tour.

My family and I went on three separate trips with Walter and he is excellent. He is quite knowledgable about Port Elizabeth and the Eastern Cape province as a whole. What I found most excellent about him was that he adapted to our family’s style of travelling and tried his absolute best to find suitable activities and locations for us.

Can't recommend John as a guide highly enough! He knows the park and where to take you, with a incredible knowledge of all the animals. Having him as a guide was the best part of my Addo trip
Saw lions, elephants and loads more, got a flight to PE as the safari options around Cape Town were not so good.

African Sightings Adventure tour in Addo was an absolutely amazing experience. We spent the day cruising through the savanna with our guide Joel who talked about all of the amazing animals, planets, and history of the Addo national park. Joel also cooked us a full barbaque complete with an incredible selection of drinks and snacks (vegetarian options were especially delicious!). Absolutely 5 star service and attention, thank you Joel!

As it was my best friends first time in South Africa, we decided to do a safari. We got in contact with a lovely woman called Angelika and went on tour with our amazing guide Andrew from Alantours. He came to pick us up in the morning at our hotel and we drove together to Addo Park. It had rained quite a bit, so it wasn‘t as easy to see a lot of animals but Andrew was really professionel, stayed patient (even though my 7 month old was crying in the back) and we were able to see so many elefants, zebras, buffalos and so much more! Thanks so much again for the amazing experience!

Fantastic two day tour. Got within 6 feet of three lions as well as seeing loads of elephants, zebra, kudu, monkeys, buffalo and red hartebeest. Tour guide King Elvis was exceptional.

Had a wonderful tour of Addo Elephant Park with Alan. He was extremely knowledgeable and knew exactly where to go to have the best viewing of the animals based on the weather and time of day. He also took amazing pictures and shared them after the tour. Overall a top rated experience.

I have to say that Jonathan who reviewed Afroventures on March 8th said exactly what I wanted to say - every word he wrote about his trip matched ours spot on! I will only emphasize that the personal interactions with our amazing guide - and amazing person - John and the 2 young German women we had with us on our 1st day (Addo) and the Belgium and American women we had with us for the next 3 days were fantastic! Great lodging, great food, great company, great animal sightings, great learning about the history of the places we went to - all in all, I really can't recommend this company and they experiences we had with them enough!

My first visit to South Africa and was pleased to have a fantastic guide called Walter. He met me at the airport and drove me to the accommodation called 'The Elephant House' where I had booked my holiday stay. He also
gave me a private guided tour of Port Elizabeth and a big game drive based there too. His local knowledge was extensive so it helped me to learn about many aspects of African life and culture. I can throughly recommend him should you need to hire a very knowledgeable and guide.

I only had the weekend to spend roaming around Port Elizabeth and I am super happy to have chosen to book Alan Tours! They have truly made my first visit to South Africa memorable as Andrew (guide) came to fetch me on time from my hotel at 8am. He navigated along the sea coast showing fabulous sites including the Nelson Mandela University, Plettenberg Bay and small towns until we reached the Wild Flower Reserve. There, he prepared a breakfast picnic for us with pressed-coffee and buttered cookies. He also took initiative to get great pictures via my phone or his phone, which he later on sent me via WhatsApp. There was also no dull moment with Andrew as he named most plants, flowers and insects/animals thought the trip. He made sure I was comfy, safe and hydrated throughout the day.
Next stops were the Storms River Bridge and Jeffrey’s bay with breath-taking views. As we made our way to Tsitsikamma National Park, he not only stated facts about the sites we came across but also shared fun stories about his tour guide career from Namibia across RSA. I appreciate his openness and imparted passion about his work & love of nature.
We had lunch in the Crags just by the sea shore. Offered choices on the menu were great seafood, burger, salad or meat selections - mid-priced, not cheap ones. After which, we went to the Monkey Land and just beside it, Birds of Eden. The animals were so cool! Locals, and Andrew mentioned, go to those sites during school trips. But hey, if you’re an animal lover as myself, they are definitely worth checking!
We headed back around 17:00 just in time to get to pass through the Bloukrans bridge before sunset - one of the highest global bungee jumping sites. Andrew asked where I preferred to be dropped off and we reached the hotel back at 19:30. The garden route tour was superb! I recommend this tour as it differs from the normal big 5 park or game reserves, seeing more sites towards the west coast of Port Elizabeth.

We did the 4x4 Tour around Kabouga, which is a very remote section of Addo Elephant National Park. This park is rarely explored and its likely that 99% of visitors of Addo have never heard of it. It is definitely worth a trip. The area is a lot more untouched wilderness than the main park which - despite being quite large - is clearly laid our and feels like a park.

We also did a tour around the main park and a boat cruise with Andrew (boat: Stampede).

Both days were really enjoyable. Andrew is a really nice guy who is respectfully to humans and animals alike. He has a huge amount of experience and can read animalrs very well and knows when to give a grumpy buffallo a bit more space.

Andrew also has a lot of interesting stories to tell and knows a lot about the animals and the environment. He really does go the extra mile to make sure you have a good experience and enjoy your time in the Eastern Cape.

We'd thoroughly recommend Alan Tours and Andrew in particular.
