What travellers are saying
- Erensia MBloemfontein, South Africa76 contributionsWe did the middle length (5km) and the views are absolutely phenomenal. Definitely cannot forget your camera. You do require some fitness as you will be climbing over rocks, walk over dunes and access a variety of terrains. Majority of the Witsand route is spend going uphill and pathways are uneven and narrow at times. You need good walking shoes and cannot forget your water and sunblock. Recommend going early.Written 4 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ladyloulaa234 contributionsWe booked the Lion Cabin & it was worth it. To hear the Lions Roar at 5am made the hair on our arms stand up !!
The food was cooked for us by delightful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. To see all the animals and hear about their stories was one of the highlights of our visit.
Keri looked after us on our tour & was so attentive during our two night stay.
The gift shop and jewellery on offer was amazing & a few purchases were made.Written 5 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You walk around with a guide and he's good at finding monkeys and talking about them. A staff member brought out a bucket of nuts and monkeys erupted from the trees and shrubs! They came from every angle, it was so cool. They surrounded us, but all they wanted was food. We saw seven or eight different species, including the elusive gibbons! It was a fabulous experience. Note: Do apply the bug cream they offer, I didn't and had six bites on my ankles within minutes! Went back, applied and all was good! lolWritten 7 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- scrabbler2015Huntingdon, UK33 contributionsIt was great to see that the birds had so much space to fly freely. We expected to spend about a hour at this attraction but we were there over 2 hours. Go at your own pace. It is not time limited and you can spend as much time as you have. Plenty of places to sit and watch and listen. Even if you can't spot the birds the noise is incredible and you feel at one with nature. There are many feeding stations where you can get close to the birds. When it is feeding time, birds come from everywhere and we saw many different species that we had not spotted before. We bought a very good value guide book which we used to identify the birds we had taken photos of when we got homeWritten 14 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - IanUK721Wymondham, UK85 contributionsThe first thing to say is that these are rescued elephants. Some from the poaching trade and some have had their trunks caught in traps so do not have full use and probably would not survive in the wild. We walked with them and fed them and brushed them down and considered it a great privilege that these magnificent creatures allowed us to be so close to them and share some time with them. Unlike other reviews I don’t think they look sad at all and seem to enjoy the company. If you can, go and enjoy the company of a wonderful creature.Written 22 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Except the kids that beg on the board walk for food and they are quite rude also they will come right up to you and keep on asking even though you said no , i think there should be more police to keep them away

- Erensia MBloemfontein, South Africa76 contributionsWe did the wine tasting with pizza. Wine was light and easy to drink. Pizza is woodfire pizza and did not disappoint. They do not have the biggest menu but appears to excel in what they offer. - Lenore NCape Town, South Africa85 contributionsThis is a bit of a hidden gem. We visited on a Tuesday afternoon and were the only guests- which added positively to the experience. You can walk on your own and It’s a very relaxing experience. It’s amazing to see the wolves although a bit unsettling when they were tracking our 5 year old. I think they thought easy prey... It was loads of fun visiting and feeding the farm animals. We would definitely recommend a stop here.Written 25 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- David BJohannesburg, South Africa38 contributionsAlthough expensive, this is an excellent day out in Plett for the kids. Lots space, great rides and we made the best of every minute that we had until it closed. friendly staff, although the lifeguards are not that great..... Lady at whirlpool slide on her phone and disappeared most of the day.
