Popped in for lunch and a wander around the gardens. The Cafe setting is so serene, beautiful. We ordered seared tuna tacos and salad. I'm not a person who takes a lot of food pics. This time was a must and pic attached. After lunch and a couple of wines we meandered around the gardens. There was a wedding party arriving and the setting among the garden was perfect.
The owners are so welcoming, food is divine and the setting is stunning.
    Definitely returning.

Beautiful, turquoise waters greet you. No waves in the lagoon so safe for kids to swim in. The water is warm. Plenty of shading from trees around the lagoon.

Great place for snorkeling. We saw heaps of fish including some moray eels and puffer fish. Very safe and calm within the reef.

Lots of food to choose from, including fresh fruits and vegetables as well as barbequed meats and other cooked food. A lot of stalls sold pareus (sarongs), shirts, art and she'll jewellery, a few also had wooden crafts. Worth a wander aroundon a Saturday morning, though it gets hot in summer and there's not much shade! From Arorangi it's an easy bus ride in, but the last anticlockwise bus leaves around midday so it can be busy on the way back.

Although not a long walk, it's challenging. The track is rough with a lot of steep up and downs and some clambering over tree roots.

We did it after it had been raining, so the track was muddy and slippery. I definitely wouldn't do the walk in the rain, and whether the track is dry or wet, make sure you have decent footwear.

It will take about 2 1/2 to 3 hours (car park to car park) so take plenty of water (suggest 1 litre per person) and some food.

Do not do the walk alone. In case of injury (e.g. sprained ankle) you need a partner to organise help (there's no cell phone coverage).

All that said, there are some beautiful views and scenic spots along the walk, and when you finish, it's an awesome sense of achievement.

A good place to go on a Sunday night to get some food, lots of local food options to choose from. There are a few stalls that arrange tours but it's mostly food. Watch out for ripe mangoes dropping from the trees!

Was fortunate enough to visit Sunday service when travelling choral groups from outer islands were also visiting. The singing and indeed the whole service is a must do when visiting the Cook Islands!

I went last week and loved it - the staff were lovely and did ask if I had any questions about anything but I was fine to just stroll around - I was quite saddened learning about how much of the culture was colonised but enjoyed reading about the history of the island and the people.

We didn't get lucky with a great weather during out 6-day stay in October so we never saw this beach at its absolute best but what we had seen was absolutely stunning and beautiful - it's a wonderful stop for a beach visit, but also just to sit down, relax, unwind - I would say also very romantic for couples :) the story/history behind the significance of this place makes it even more special!

TIP: great spot for whales/sunsets, the big parking lot right above it makes it super easy to organize a quick, or a long one, stop :)

We spent a lovely few hours here lazing on the beach and then snorkeling. We watched the lagoon cruises come through and stop for their passengers to jump out and have a snorkel. You don't have to go far to start seeing fish, but go right out to the reef for the best views (it's not very deep) - just watch out for the lagoon boats. Heaps of parking directly opposite the shop Fruits of Rarotonga

Iain takes you up through the orange grove to the conservation area to see all the natural splendor of the island. Be sure to wear closed toe shoes as they are a definite must. Be prepared for a short period of strenusous climbing.
