Awesome experience! The guided tour lasted about 1.5 hours. It was the perfect length for our 3 year old. We saw sloths, monkeys, and TONS of birds. It wasn’t crowded and they were following COVID safety measures. Highly recommend.

Beautiful reserve with so many animals. Very disappointed to learn the beach we went there to see is closed. Went on a couple easy walks and had good meals. Did I mention so many monkeys, deer, macaws and others.

It was so empty! We were able to see some fishes, outside some turtles and two crocodiles, as well as two sharks (such a little cage tho). The area itself felt so empty and kind of „left alone“. About half an hour visit time and you saw everything there.

This is a lovely old church, cool, quiet and peaceful. If you are in the viscinity it is well worth a visit for this, and the classical architecture.

Had a fantastic day with Paula and the crew. We saw a mother and baby humpback whale almost immediately once we were out on the water. As we were making our ride back in, we got to see the baby jumping out of the water and playing - it was amazing! Not sure if I’ll ever see that again in my life. Paula was very knowledgeable of the wildlife in the area and shared lots of information as we watched the whales & birds. Great experience!

Any site that offers a photo opp for wildlife viewing for free earns a very good. Careful with the traffic, it is VERY hard to cross. Hopefully the side you are on offers lots of crocodiles.

We paid $65 per person to do a ‘mangrove tour’ at Isla Damas.
In fairness, on these tours you are at the mercy of nature with regards to what you may or may not see... we saw some monkeys, some birds and lizards and that was about it. Unfortunately no crocodiles.
A nice experience with enthusiastic guides, and of course you sometimes want to take the opportunity of seeing a mangrove if you can... but we both thought it was grossly overpriced.
The tour lasts about 3 hours (from hotel pick-up to return, and that includes about an hour of lunch at a hotel in Quepos). Ultimately, there are better things to do in the area so we wouldn’t recommend you go out of your way to go here...

I went to the SLBC and it was great! It's very easy to get there, and they have a huge sign in the entrance which for me is so important, especially for tourists! The entrance was really cheap which is very good especially for large amounts of people or families. No food or drinks are allowed inside, except water, yet inside they have a snack and drink bar with snacks, beers, waters etc. They also have a restaurant but we went to another restaurant nearby that we wanted to visit. Another pro was the fact that you could leave as you pleased and come back as well. The pool is huge! There was a lot space and also areas with shade because the sun is intense! Yet you can feel breeze all the time! They had music which was very nice. My absolute favorite pro from this club was the bathrooms and changing areas. Very clean, with space and super comfortable to shower and change. That is very important especially with hot weather! All around, its a great place to share with friends or family and to spend the weekend!

This church has an interesting facade and faces a small park and plaza. Benches provide some respite from sun and heat. The adjacent plaza now features several interesting statues. The peninsula is small and this location is an easy walk.

Using Tiquicia Tours was a great decision! My mom and I decided to go to Costa Rica for a mother and daughter trip. Because we were traveling alone to another country from the United States, we wanted to make sure that we felt comfortable and safe while enjoying the biodiversity and beauty of Costa Rica. Victor from the moment I spoke to him helped me to feel comfortable. I could tell that he was very knowledgeable and passionate about Costa Rica. He was willing to answer any questions that we had and his packages were well laid out. We stayed at the all inclusive Fiesta Resort and Victor would meet us frequently to talk about what changes if any to the excursions that may have been needed. The drivers and guides we had were all very kind and nice and made us feel very safe. They watched out for us constantly. I felt safe everywhere that we went. We went to Carara national park our guide Ronald was wonderful at picking out the birds and other wildlife and fauna. We also got to interact with monkeys while on way to Carara. After that we did the mangrove and Crocodile boat tour on the Tarcoles River. It was a great way to see the wildlife from the river.
Next we went to Mirvalles and Hornillas volcano and hot springs with our guide Estaban. We rode horses up and then took swinging bridges to waterfalls. We had a delicious lunch in a little restaurant. Hornilla volcano and hot springs was full of geothermal energy. The mud and hot springs were very relaxing.
We went to see sloths and many different types of birds at a reserve with with Aron as our guide through that reserve. We were able to see sloths very close.
Last we went to Monteverde where we had Ronald again as our guide. The town was a beautiful little town. We were able to see many hummingbirds flying free buzzing around everywhere at a little cafe. Ronald helped us pick our several different kinds of birds. We did a night tour in the forest there and got to see a lot of wildlife including a viper and beautiful birds sleeping. We are planning to go back with more of our family next time and we will definitely use Tiquicia Tours again.

We had a great tour with Marcos from Thumbs Up in Puntarenas. Marcos was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, he gave us lots of information and was really helpful. We loved seeing wildlife in its natural environment. The Jungle Boat Cruise was truly exceptional and the restaurant stop was beyond words - amazing views and very nice food.
The only part I didn't fully enjoy was the Monkey House but this was due to other tour groups being irresponsible. Marcos had given us lots of facts about the monkeys and had clearly asked us not to approach them, pet them or feed them. However, other groups were not so responsible and there seemed to be no controls. When we arrived a group were already there (a different tour company) and were too close and were feeding the monkeys hand to hand. By the time we got to the clearing the monkeys we're hyped up and agitated and some of our group got scratched. The Monkey House should be a good opportunity to educate tourists about wildlife but other tour companies should take a leaf from Thumbs Up's book.

We first chose Arenas travel to get us from San Jose Airport to the Fiesta resort. They have an office right at the resort. As a family of 19 with adults and children they were very accommodating. So we gave them a shot at the tour to Monteverde. That was wonderful. Charlie, our guide was so patient with all of us! ( families with little children,,, you get it) That was all good, then we were expecting a boxed Styrofoam lunch. Wow, it was so much more. We all had a wonderful set down experience at a local restaurant in the town close to Monteverde. With that, we signed up for a fishing tour, that was perfect. We then went to Carrera reserve. Chris our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the country and preservation. They even made special stops for us. Finally we finished with a tour to Manual Antonio Park. Charlie was our guide again. He showed us so many things we would have never seen on our own. Once again a wonderful lunch at a local restaurant. Considering the transportation, entrance fees, lunch and personal guide, I think it was all a bargain. If you have a larger group like we had the pricing gets very reasonable. I cannot emphasize enough how valuable it is to have a guide for first timers to Costa Rica. Your money is well spent going with Enoc and his crew at Arenas Travel! Great work guys. Mike Treasure

I friend of mine set me up with Gio a couple of years ago and we were so happy with his service and friendly attitude. Gio speaks fluent English which is a great asset to me and my family. We have booked Gio's services 3 times and would never consider using any other service. Gio is a very good and trustworthy person. Stop looking for other services and book with Gio. You won't be disappointed and won't have any headaches from booking the wrong guy. Pura Vida~

The best part of our tour was the friendly and knowledgeable tour guide Charlie!! From the moment he picked us up to the very end of the tour he went out of his way to make our trip to Carara National Park memorable. He knocked off everything on our wish list and more. What an amazing adventure!!
