We really enjoyed our tour with Gary. He was very knowledgeable about the various sites we visited and passionate.

The pacing of the tour was perfect with stops along our route to the sacred valley that were interactive. Transportation was also good and we felt very safe along the way. Hotel accommodation was great! Hot water, good breakfast, great views. One of our nicest stays of the trip.

Gary did a great job of keeping us aware of the itinerary throughout our experience. Plenty of time in the sacred valley and at Machu Picchu to enjoy the sites at a leisurely pace with our tour guide to explain things we would have missed.

The trek was an unforgettable experience. Our guide Brai was professional, enthusiastic
and very inclusive. I recommend doing this trek, you'll see amazing contrasts in views and nature in 5 days, and Macchu Picchu is a treat at the end!

I cannot say enough good things about Happy Gringo Tours. I tried to book the 4-day Inca trail on Viator and kept getting cancelations from the vendors on Viator with no explanation. My fifth try was with Happy Gringo Tours and instead of just cancelling my booking Juan reached out to me on WhatsApp to explain that classic Inca trail was fully booked months in advance. He worked with me to choose other options (including this one) to maximize what I could do in Cusco. How refreshing to have personalized service! They were even kind enough to transfer my luggage from my first hotel to the second while I was on the hike.

And speaking of the hike, Ruben, our guide was great in explaining where we were and what we were seeing. He told us about the history and even pointed out various plants and animals native to the location. We didn't see a bear, but you can't have everything!

I did the 4-day tour including biking, rafting and ziplining until the visit of Machu Picchu. Jonathan the guide was great with very interesting Spanish and English explanations, sharing his knowledge and passion as well as unusual places along the path. I recommend it !

If you are reading this and trying to decide whether to book your tour to Machu Picchu with Happy Gringo, stop reading and just book now. You won’t regret it.

The very well organised Happy Gringos took care of everything, allowing my brother and I to sit back, relax and enjoy and incredible journey to the breathtaking Machu Picchu.

Marco picked us up from our hotel in Cusco and organised our transportation to Aguas Calientes. Once we got to the town we met our amazing tour guide Ruben, who took us to our hotel which was again organised totally by Happy Gringo.

We got to know Ruben over dinner that night where we talked and laughed about everything from Peruvian delicacies to our families back home. Ruben made us feel like we were visiting an old friend in a town that we had been to many times. We felt completely comfortable and at home.

Having always wanted to see the sunrise at Machu Picchu we woke up at 5:30am and met up with Ruben again. He rode with us on the bus and ensured that we had a smooth entry into Machu Picchu. Again, I literally just stood there and did nothing.

The magical beauty of Machu Picchu was complimented perfectly by Ruben’s knowledgeable insight into the history of the citadel. He provided the context behind what we were seeing, which allowed us to appreciate the experience much more than if we went on our own. He also knew all the best places to take photos and made sure that we were happy with them before we kept on walking. After the tour we had lunch and played billiards together before heading to our train which was again all organised by Happy Gringo.

If you are looking for a well organised, reliable and friendly tour company then Happy Gringo is for you. The stress-free experience allows you to relax and properly appreciate once of the most magical places in the world. We can’t thank Ruben and all the Gringos enough. Gracias.

This was the best trip and tour of a lifetime thanks to the best tour guide ever Julio that became family. He was very patient and very encouraging throughout this 4 days Inca jungle hike. I thought so many times of quitting because that was hard. But I finish this amazing experience and was able to hike to Machu Pichu. All the aches and pain my body feel was worth it and with an amazing guide like Julio pushing me I was able to accomplish my like long dream of hiking the Inca trail to Machu Pichu. Also Arturo the organizer was amazing I was able to reach him personally with any questions I have about the trip. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND doing a tour with this group if your ever in Cusco and ask for Julio his English was amazing and I can’t wait to comeback and have another tour with them. Love you guys thanks for taking care of me these past 4 days

Great trip overall! We had a very good communication with the travel agency from the beginning on and they were able to answer most of our questions. The guides during the trip were also really great and tried their best to give us the best experience during the time of the trip. Hike and accommodations were also nice and visiting the Machu Picchu at the end of the trip was a grand finale.

we had a great time form start to finish, Jhordi met us the evening before to explain the plan of the day and then everything went exactly as planned except a delay on the train home which was nobodies fault, the driver patiently waited the extra hour or so so take us back no problem. The town of Machu Picchu was great, we had lunch and dinner there the of course visiting Matchu Picchu itself was exactly what you would expect, fantastic!.
The only comment I would make and this seems to be the same for every tour operator is meeting places often dont exist, have moved, or there are multiple with the same name, make sure you know exactly where you are meeting.

I completely recommend this tour company and Jose Luis, it was just an outstanding experience to visit the Incan citadel and the trip was organised very efficiently. The accommodations were good, transport was on time and the guide service was just way beyond expectation.

Upon booking my trip to Peru, I knew I wanted to do some type of trek up to Machu Picchu. Did a lot of research & most treks seemed to extreme for me until I came across the Inca Jungle Trek by Marvelous Peru. It had the perfect combination of hiking & adventurous excursions such as biking, water rafting, hot springs & zip lining. I was a little hesitant at first but after reading all the good reviews, I booked it right away & I am glad that I did! I can personally say that this 4 day/3 night trek had EXCEEDED ALL EXPECTATIONS! Never a dull moment!

We had our debriefing/meet & greet with our guide Daniel the day before. He went over what to expect, tips such as how to manage & prepare for altitude sickness. He even assured us that we will do fine & will take things easy if needed. From the get go, he was very attentive & patient with all the questions we had which made us even more excited to start the trek!

The hostels all had the basics necessities we needed - washrooms, showers & beds. They were able to accommodate myself & the two people I was traveling with in a private room at each hostel, which I was very pleased about! There was no hot shower for the first night which wasn’t a big deal after a long day of being active & sweating. The cold shower was actually refreshing. Each hostel also had WIFI which was a winning factor for me. THE FOOD WAS NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING! It was good and the portions were big. We even had different type of appetizers & main dishes each day! Yum!

During the hike, Daniel made sure that we took the breaks we needed & motivated us to keep going. Instead of just aimlessly walking, he educated us about the history of how the Inca’s lived & their traditions & even dropped a few random facts about the plants/birds we walked passed/flew by. One major highlight for me was actually trying the different fruits right off the tree, getting to grind coffee beans at the Monkey House (a pit stop during our hike) & getting our face painted from an achiote fruit. The amount of walking (from the perspective of someone who doesn’t walk often) is manageable & definitely worth it because the views are UNREAL. Pictures won’t do justice, you will have to be there to really take in the beauty of it.

For the excursions - I am not an experienced biker but I felt safe as we were geared up in safety equipment such as helmets, shoulder, knee, elbow & chest pads! Majority of the biking route was downhill, so you don’t necessarily have to be the fittest to enjoy this. You are literally biking through the mountains, which was so breathtaking!

The hot springs were so clean! It was much needed after hours of walking. The water was crystal clear & did not have that sulfur smell which was good. The temperature of the water was just right.

The water rafting was so thrilling & would love to do it again! We even got to visit waterfalls via a detour which I won’t spoil. For the ziplining, I expected a little bit more but we were advised that it was limited due to Covid. The guides made sure everything was secured & they demonstrated each position & rules to us before we went on. If it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t have the confidence to go out of my comfort zone. I zip-lined upsize down hands free, so thank you! Both of these excursions were operated by a third party. We had drivers that drove us from and to our hostels. I was impressed by the organization of how our drivers were always on time or if not, early. Daniel always communicated where we needed to be & when we needed to be ready by.

Of course, we ended the trip at Machu Picchu & it was obviously the main highlight of our trip. Again, photos does not do justice! You must see it! What made it a better experience for us is that Daniel gave us a detailed lesson of the history of Machu Picchu with photos & went even deeper to explain the agriculture & architecture!

Traveling with just a group of girls, Daniel was very respectful & made us feel comfortable. He goes ABOVE & BEYOND to interact with everyone to ensure we were all having a good time. He also reached out to us to confirm if we made it back to Cusco safety even after we had separated ways. Overall, He is very personable, fun & professional, we love to see that in a tour guide! His English is great as well, which was very easy to have conversations with him.

Dan, you the man! Thank you so much for giving my family & I such a good Peru experience. I would 100% recommend Marvelous Peru & Daniel! Hoping to come back to do the Salkantay trek!

I highly recommend this tour operator. They were amazing, always in contact and helpful. My guide Ivone is an amazing person and extremely knowledgeable. She had all the insight on Inca culture and knew the best photo spots. She also turned out to be an amazing photographer. Wonderful experience and beautiful guide. Will definitely use this tour operator again.
