- David BDelray Beach, FL1 145 contributionsThis is a castle site first developed by the Swedes with a log fort and finally passed down to the British who built the fort into its final form. It has slave dungeons and a gate of no return. There is an admission cost, bathrooms and exhibits.Written 11 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lulu L1 contributionWe went to kakum national park on a school trip in January 2024. Well, I can’t say it was unpleasant. The first minutes, when we climbed the stairs, I thought I would die. I’m not quite used to make so much effort. But then, we arrived to the bridges. I really had fun, although there was some idiot behind me shaking up the bridge. The view was amazing. Anyways if you’re seeking for a pleasant and thrilling moment, you’ve got to go there, but make sure to be prepared of the infernal stairs.Written 16 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jonathan BEccles, UK70 contributionsThis place was not only fascinating but also has a real purpose to spread information about bees and apiculture, giving a valuable skill and income stream to people in rural Ghana. Our guide told us about the centre and the work it did before showing us the hives containing these amazing insects. We got to sample the honey and bought some from the small shop to bring home. The centre also has lots of information about the health benefits of 'Propolis' a gum made by the bees that can be used in the treatment of wounds and seems to have beneficial properties.Written 24 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - IrisLuxLuxembourg City, Luxembourg92 contributionsOne of my best memories from our trip to Ghana was the cooking class with Esi. The recipes for making red red and palava sauce and boiled yams were easy to follow and I was very happy that I succeeded in preparing the meals. And they were delicious, too, if I am allowed to say it myselfs.
Esi paid a lot of attention to the hygienic aspects while preparing the food so nobody has to be afraid to participate. She was also a good teacher, and we always understood what we were supposed to do.Written 12 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The Cape Coast castle show the juxtaposition of the soon be slave and captors. Cape Coast castle is one of about forty ''slave castle'', or large commercial fort built on the gold coast of the west Africa (now Ghana) by European traders. In cape coast castle the underground dungeon was a space of terror, death and darkness.Written 17 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BouadiCape Coast, Ghana7 contributionsMy friends and I visited the Cape Coast Kotokuraba Market. We liked the experience here. The people were warm and welcoming. We bought some items from the local market women. These women were kind and friendly.
If you want to visit, make sure you get a local tour guide to assist you, becuase it vibrant here! Our tour guide was Tony, he is knowledgeable about the the history of Cape Coast and the Kotokuraba Market. Tony communicated well.
Also, he took his time to take us, through the old city of Cape Coast. Tony was great. We will visit again!Written 20 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Walking into the shop in Cape Coast I immediately started to collect together a pile of things I wanted to buy. Lovely patterns and colours, well designed to my English tastes, well made and all in the context of Fair Trade and helping women to empowerment. Sixty different small businesses send their goods here to be sold. and are paid immediately. The staff were friendly and helpful and it was a bonus to meet Alison and hear her story as a volunteer.Written 20 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Right from the start Kwame’s communication with us was excellent (and speedy!). He was ready and waiting for us at our agreed time and recommended a nice place along the way for lunch. Very smooth journey (if you discount the hundreds of speed bumps on the way!!). Lovely guy, very interesting to talk to and highly recommended.Written 16 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
