At Chan was an amazing tour guide. She was fun, full of great information and so helpful! She worked very hard to make sure we all had a wonderful day. Really went out of her way to make us comfortable. I highly recommend this tour!!
The lessons were amazing very well explained and tasted delicious after cooking and making ourselves. They were very kind and funny teachers I would do again!!!
Dhanush is an excellent tour guide. We did not plan for snow during our trip and he provided us umbrellas. He toured us through Kyoto and guided us all the time. He would suggest all the picture spots, took a lot of family pictures for us, and also suggested places to eat catering to for our dietary needs. Excellent service.
Kenta did SUCH a great job planning our tour today! We were feeling a bit overwhelmed at the thought of trying to navigate so many places on our trip to Japan, so we decided to hire private tours in the major cities we are visiting for the first days. No regrets on this decision whatsoever! Kenta was very relaxed and easy to talk to. He showed us some amazing highlights that were more off the beaten path, unique and not crowded at all! He told us some amazing history and really helped lay the ground work for our trip so we can see what we’d like to do for the rest of our trip. He also gave us some really amazing food recommendations as well. We’re ready to explore more of the city now! Thank you Kenta!
We had a wonderful foodie night tour through the streets of Kyoto. Yumi our guide was excellent…very passionate and highly knowledgeable. Across 3 different locations and many courses, Yumi taught us so much about Japanese food, food culture and Kyoto. At the end of the night our bellies were full…and so were our brains. It was brilliant!
Michael was a great guide with immense knowledge presented in an easy to digest manner. The bike riding was lots of fun. Plus a bonus recommendation of a wonderful Raman just round the corner.
This was a great way to explore Gion and to learn more about the area. Yuko was wonderful and also shared many recommendations for the rest of our trip.
i really enjoyed touring the museum and the dance performance by the maiko. The museum display include kimono, footwear, obi, hair ornaments, musical intruments and many other items used by maiko and geisha. The panels explaining the objects in the museum were easily translated into English using the barcode photo app on the iPhone. The dance was the hilight for me. I love dance and the maiko are so graceful in their hand motions and movement. I would go again.
Yukina was our tour guide and she was really sweet. We saw three sites in our early morning tour and she took great photos of us. But the highlight of my side of the tour was when I told Yukina about the shojin ryori restaurant I wanted to go but cannot go because they require reservation for 2 people in advance (for vegan/vegetarians) she called the restaurant and learned that because it is off season I can go whenever I want. I went to Kuruma just for vegetarian food, but ended up hiking the mountain for the temple as well. It was one of the highlights of my two week in Japan and I owe it to Yukina.
The guides (Yutaka and Taka) give a lot of interesting information that you won’t know if you walk this market by yourself. They solve all of our questions and took the time to stop in every store we were interested. Thank you.
Absolutely brilliant Samurai lesson. I bought this for my husband and son and they loved it. The sensais were fabulous and the English translation by the young trainer was brilliant and entertaining. I was able to watch and take photos and videos. We were made to feel really welcome and part of a very personal experience. Cannot recommend this highly enough.
Yoko explained the history and meaning of many things in the area we would not have picked up through just reading. We visited some sights, learnt differences between Shinto and Buddhism and learnt about Maiko’s.
