- JeinSingapore, Singapore5 contributionsI found their workshop by looking up painting activities in Kyoto and I am very glad that I went here! Yusuke-san and Yoko-san are such a kind & lovely couple; they made sure I was very comfortable during my session (I was alone). Yoko-san also gave me treats and tea for when I take a break and once I’ve finished painting.
I can see Yusuke-san's passion for his paintings and I will definitely go back again next time I’m in Kyoto (end of the year!). I love the patterns and have a greater appreciation for kimono designs. Thank you so much for a great experience :)Written 23 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The class took place in a small workshop in a very pleasant atmosphere. The instructions where simple and totally comprehensive. The instructor gave us lots of choices and examples, what we could produce, and was helpful, if we needed a hand :-). The conversation was in japanese only, so if you don't speak japanese, you will need an interpreter.
After the class it took several weeks, but today the result arrived, very carefully packed. The experience of producing an own teacup was fantastic, so that I definitely want to repeat it.Written 7 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Eugene G1 contributionReally enjoyed the traditional Tamahagane knife forging workshop, organized with Tradi! Communication was easy, friendly and very responsive to all my questions, the workshop itself was amazing - really loved learning about and trying traditional Japanese forging techniques with an amazing and generous master swordsmith! Thank you!Written 3 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Meike S18 contributionsThis was a great experience, the instructors spoke good English and gave clear instructions. We loved the location by the temple and that we could have our pots sent back to the UK. Highly recommend!Written 9 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jamitchri2Adelaide, Australia17 contributionsA true highlight of our visit to Kyoto. This is a beautiful little place with a range of woodblock prints and products. We felt very privileged to meet one of the artists and learn about the ukiyo-e process. They were very gracious and welcoming. We purchased a few products including a small original of a pagoda, a larger Hokusai reproduction, and an artist's design sketch of another Hokusai (Great Wave). Very fair prices for the artistry! We love having such amazing pieces to remind us of our visit. We look forward to returning one day :-)Written 12 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
