Binda was wonderful. Amazing Africa pendants with chain to bring back from honeymoon to family in the states. Thank you again for your hospitality and customer service.

Carol and the staff were all extremely helpful. Great selection of pieces at very reasonable prices. Was able to get a set of tanzanite earrings as a gift for my mom.

This is one of two workshops for disabled artisans in Arusha. They have an enormous weaving facility where you can watch all aspects of the process. They also have several glass blowing furnaces where the make everything from beads and xmas ornaments to drinking glasses, bowls, vases and pitchers. In addition they have a beading area where artists make everything from key chain and jewelry to beaded chandeliers and a textile area for fabric items and a tin Smith for wind chimes and jewelry. On top of this They have a fabulous restaurant. I spent all morning and then had lunch. You can also custom order goods from any area that you want in the colours you want but the gift shop is fabulous on its own. Don't miss this place! The artists are able to support their families with the wages they earn and they are all trained on site.

We visited Arusha last November. We went to Tarangire and Ngorongoro crater. On our first day of arrival we passed by this visitor center and we stopped by. We got the information that we were asking for and the staff was friendly and helpful.

The base price for items here is considerably higher than what you'll get in the market. And, even if you can haggle, you will not have nearly the wiggle room that you would in the market. That said, the calibre of items here is higher than what is in the market.

Shopping at Isle of Gems was a “healing” experience after my previous purchases at bigger retailers. Their service was honest, and reasonable. The selection and prices really wonderful.
There was no “big discount” after elevating the price. Neither did I feel pushed to make a purchase or told that “the sale was ending at midnight”…. all things I have experienced before. Carole the manager listed to what I wanted, asked questions and presented alternatives.
The easiest, stress free shopping for Tanzanite I have ever experienced.

Their showroom in Mount Meru Hotel is beautiful, I was there a couple of times, and received great advise and warm services from the boss and her number one assistant Shanifa ! I highly recommend this company to buy gems from Tanzania, especially tanzanite, of which they have a wide diversity at very affordable price :D

Buy the most beautiful handcrafted baskets, bags, rugs, placemats, etc. They are produced on site by local artisans. The prices are brilliant - much cheaper than in Arusha. Very easy to find - just before Leganga Supermarket (coming from Arusha). A support this local group is a support to the local community. They are on instagram.
