Pier 2 Art Center is always a pleasure. I've been going for years despite living abroad. I like the general vibe of local artists coming together to foster sort of a creative safe space they can share with others.
Especially since it involves former warehouses that have been converted to house these contemporary art spaces.
The exhibits are always changing, each theme as interesting as the last, but some stay the same. For example, the railway museum with the mini-train ride has been there for a while.Â
The shops are nice, quirky, and unique, and it's always a pleasure to look inside. Keep in mind these are local, often indie shops, so a bit more expensive than usual, but solid products. Each exhibit has its own stamp (as in rubber stamp, not postage stamp), in case you collect those.
All in all a highlight for me. It's easily accessible via light rail or MRT. When we went, there wasn't much going on, but last time (years ago) it was too crowded, so... luck of the draw, I suppose.
