Galle is one of Sri Lanka's most populous cities. This beachside paradise in the southwest of the island is one of the most well-known in the entire country because of its historical significance. It served as the island's main port until the arrival of the Portuguese in the 16th century. While traveling, look out for fishermen selling their wares along the side of the road and take in the stunning green and turquoise beaches that line it. Tell our chauffeur if you wish to bury your toes in the sand. There are two possibilities regarding the origin of Galle's current name. You can have a unique experience while walking on Galle Fort by gazing down and taking in the view of the sea. You may take in the sunset over the fort in the evening. Once the sun has set, return to the port carrying priceless memories.

Really interesting day, that includes an excellent buffet lunch (try the devilled chicken).
First part was the mangrove river cruise, really enjoyed this, saw lots of birds (kingfishers, owls), crocodiles, river monitors, fruit bats and monkeys.
The guide was excellent, pointing out everything and seeing things way before we spotted them.
Next part was to the Buddhist temple and then to the turtle sanctuary, (be aware they are expecting tips so have some small change with you)
Mask museum was just ok, not really what we were in to and the tour guide in there looked totally disinterested.
Next stop was the Tsunami museum, very sad and also very interesting talking with the woman and what she is doing in the local community to help people even now.
Then it was on to Galle fort, interesting to walk around and not crowded.
Last stop before lunch was the stilt fishermen, interesting to see how they used to fish.
    Finally was lunch (excellent).
Can’t recommend Bentota travel mart and Dinesh enough.

Booked a cooking class with Wasantha to experience authentic cooking in Sri Lanka. We first went to the local vegetable and fish markets buying the ingredients to cook. The class was incredible showing us different styles of cooking both modern and old methods. The end result was a feast of Sri Lankan curries served to us and leaving us feeling like family. Thoroughly recommend Wasantha, her cooking classes and restaurant.

Fabulous day arranged by Sammy with the lovely Danushka as my driver. Very professional experience, from the debate on ‘what to do with my day trip’ where Sammy laid out options, pros and cons and finally we decided on this trip, all booked in advance, invoiced and payment online super efficient. Danu turned up at 4am, and we were off - snoozing in the luxury car I was abruptly awaken at 5:45am by Danu who had spotted 12 elephants just casually crossing the highway - what a sight !! We reached Adams Peak just after 7am, to be met by a local Tuk Tuk driver (lovely guy who lived on the mountain) who took me up the mountain, whilst telling me all about the Tea and surrounding areas, the walk up to the peak was steep but so worth it .. what an amazing view. Back in the Tuk Tuk, over to the Nine Arch Bridge, quick pic, back in the Tuk Tuk and over to the train for the most amazing journey. Back with Danu, I decide to skip the Tea Factory, preferring to head back to Bentoto and guess what - another Elephant on the way home along with an education in the plants and trees along the way …. Quick snooze and i was back for sunset in Bentota. I cannot speak highly enough of this experience, its well planned, super professional and frankly not one to miss. The only regret, not more time to do more…. Thank you Sammy & team, you legends.

Colombo can be overpowering, even a tad crazy, but this tour took all the stress out of it. We had been offered no end of tours by eager tuk tuk drivers - but this one was in a nice air conditioned car, driven by a knowledgable guide who spoke perfect English. He took trouble to find out what we wanted to see (and didn’t want - the zoo for example). We were very impressed, especially as we only booked late on the day before the tour. Well done Remi

We went on a tour to Galle, and it exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide, Deshan, was simply amazing. His knowledge of the area, coupled with his friendly demeanor, made the experience truly memorable. The stops along the way were diverse, offering insights into the rich history and culture of Galle. From exploring the iconic Galle Fort to visiting jungle beach and a sea turtle conservation center. It was truly a great day, thanks to Deshan and the well-planned itinerary. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore the beauty of Galle!

We had an amazing trip to Yala with Bentota Travel Mart. My husband and I were picked up at 0400 from Centara Ceysands resort in Bentota and were warmly greeted. Our driver, Dinesh, couldn't do enough for us. He showed us many sights along the way. We were then taken for a coffee before meeting our jeep driver who showed us the park. We saw many elephants, crocodiles, water buffalo, deer, wild boars, many beautiful tropical birds, land monitors ( large lizards) unfortunatly, we didn't see any leopards but hey...that's nature. Afterwards, we were brought to meet our driver at a local restaurant where we had an fabulous Sri Lankan rice and curry lunch. We could choose of the menu and order what we liked. We highly recommend this travel company and used them for several other tours during our trip to Sri Lanka.

Incredible experience on safari here. We saw so many animals: beautiful birds, including so many peacocks, elephants right up close, mongoose, buffalo, wild boar, lizards and crocodiles.
The park is beautiful itself and the sound of bird song is charming. It wasn't too busy when we went, although you do see a fair number of other trucks around.
Our guide was excellent and could spot animals incredibly well.
Highly recommended. From pick up at hotel to the safari and everything else, it was all good.

This was a really wonderful way to spend a morning. We learnt a lot about Sri Lankan cooking and ingredients, and Sanju was a knowledgeable and patient teacher. And best of all, we got to eat to dishes we had prepared for lunch! Overall we prepared 5-6 dishes, so it was a feast! We had a lovely time, and thoroughly recommend this experience.

One of the best and most informative tours I went on while I was in the south of Sri Lanka! I learned something new at every stop and the guides were very friendly! I would definitely recommend this tour!

A terrific way to see the back roads and to learn about plants, and animals. We toured a rope making facility from coconut husk to finished product and toured a factory where all materials were hand woven. A pleasant and informative ride

We have spent 14 nights and 15 days travelling Sri Lanka following our engagement in Dubai for NYE.

We were warmly greeted at the airport by our guide Dankuka, who stayed with us for the majority of our time. Danuka has been the best guide we could have possibly asked for and without him we certainly would have had a different experience!

We explored many places including the local villages, temples, safaris and enjoyed some local traditions. All of these whilst feeling safe, being provided with the knowledge we need on where is best to eat, what to avoid and anything we could possibly need.

Furthermore, Danuka provided a first class service being the liaison with all the different hotels and having each room decorated and with cake for our special occasion. This was very well received and much appreciated.

Danuka has been an excellent guide, who has known the answers to all of our questions, gone above and beyond (including getting medicine when it was needed!), made a reservations for us and has been a great companion with an excellent sense of humour to keep us company, look after us and make sure we have the best time possible and see the most of Sri Lanka!!

The extra effort, going above and beyond has not been unnoticed. It has certainly been a trip to remember and without Danuka this would have not been the case - so thank you very much!!

I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to see the real Sri Lanka and have the expertise and safety blanket of a good quality guide who is also very personable.
