What travellers are saying
- earlymorn1606Felpham, UK28 contributionsThis is something to do. These monkeys are wild. They are opportunists and will grab anything. Be hypeaware. Saw them take camera equipment, a man had a scratch on his arm and needed medical attention. This is because people do stupid things. It’s a nice walk. I would suggest getting a taxi there and taking a number of a taxi or arrange a time, as can be a long walk. Spend a couple of hours walking round no more.Written 9 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Rachel MTel Aviv, Israel76 contributionsI was expecting spectacular views which were a bit disappointing. That said, it was nice to get out of central Ubud and walk along the ridge and through the trees. Easy path to find and follow and not too long. A bit steep in sections so potentially not suitable for those with mobility/knee issues. Some lovely cafes/earrings along the way. This walk is best done early in the morning or later in the day avoiding the worst heat.Written 16 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Adam FReynella, Australia5 contributionsA Must Do for art lovers. Comfortable museum with well laid out and captioned examples of all schools of Balinese art. - YuqingOttawa, Canada8 contributionsIt's a nice water temple. You need to pay to enter. They give you saron at the entrance for you to wear. - Fred AMelbourne, Australia4 contributionsAs we were staying at Murni's Houses & Spa it was only a 3 minute walk. Rather historical museum with 3 or 4 pavilions of representative paintings and some wood carvings. All set in a nice garden.Written 26 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- cliff1608297 contributionsReally just another market selling the same goods you see all over, nice to walk through but would be nicer if you could actually stop and look without the sellers telling you they have T-shirts in big size and sarong for lady. Actually think I would have bought more if was left to browse but did see some nice items so good way to kill an hour or two.Written 17 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Adam FReynella, Australia5 contributionsGreat location near Murni's Warung (a good place to relax afterwards - see my other review) for the painting of one man, who lived in Bali from the 1950s. Striking building and paintings are well laid out. Exotic birds in the garden. Enjoyed it.Written 5 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - EmiBrisbane, Australia1 035 contributionsI woke up at 6am after flying into Bali the night before. A friend said "If you wake up, get up and go for a walk" I'm not a walker but as she is a Bali regular, I heeded her advice. And I am so so glad I did.
The beautiful hotel (guesthouse) we were staying at is on JL Kajeng so I walked up the street and followed the signs to Sweet Orange Warung.
It is a head spin to see the heaving street that was filled with markets the night before empty with only a few mopeds moving about. It was, initially, terrifying to see these mopeds on the tiny path I was walking on! But the further I walked, the quieter it became.
I did a 2.2km loop past the closed at 6.30am Sweet Orange Warung and back down to Ubud. The path at the end of the walk all but disappeared and I laughed walking over a plank covering where the path was.
But I did it and LOVED it! Would recommend it to anyone else visiting Ubud.Written 30 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There is a wide selection of very large to small pieces. Most of the works are traditional although modern works are in the adjacent building. I believe that the prices are negotiable (told so by a staff member). Although I did not purchase anything this will be my go to place in the future.Written 17 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
