We completed the 5 day Ciudad Perdida Trek with our family of four, including two children age 5 and 9 years old. The service from Expotur was excellent, starting with the transport from and to the hotel, but also the communication before the trek. Our group of four had three dedicated guides: Jorge, the main guide, Samuel, the translator, and Cunga, the chef. The guides made our trip a great success. Delicious hot food three times per day, showing us the most beautiful places in the jungle, sharing a wealth of information about nature and culture, but above all, carrying our youngest child for miles across difficult terrain. The trek is very challenging, but our 9 year old daughter walked the full 57km distance (5500m total climb) and our 5 year old really enjoyed the adventure thanks to the loving care of our guides. The camps were great. There is WiFi everywhere for a small fee. The camp showers are cold but that is fine if you shower immediately when arriving at a camp hot and sweaty. Every camp has a shop where you can buy cold water bottles and beer. During the hikes, you get a break every 2km where the guides serve you fresh fruit. It makes the hikes easier to endure. The guides made the whole experience feel very luxurious. Meeting Mamo at Ciudad Perdida, the giant waterfall, the cable cart river crossings and swimming in the river are just some of the highlights of our trip.

The Lost City tour in Colombia is an unforgettable adventure that immerses you in the rich history and captivating beauty of the country. From start to finish, the tour provides an exhilarating experience that exceeds all expectations. The trek through lush jungles, crossing rivers, and ascending steep mountains is challenging but rewarding. The knowledgeable guides expertly navigate the trails, sharing the fascinating stories behind the ancient ruins and indigenous cultures. The Lost City itself is breathtaking, with its intricate stone terraces and majestic views. The tour also offers a unique opportunity to connect with local communities and truly appreciate Colombia's vibrant heritage. Without a doubt, the Lost City tour is a must-do for any traveler seeking an extraordinary and culturally immersive experience.

An absolutely incredible experience! Everything about this trek was top notch. We did the 4 day hike which everyone in our group thought was the perfect amount of time. The trek is very well organized at every step of the way. Our guide Keysy and our translator Tyson were amazing. The food was delicious, with great vegetarian options. They keep you well fed all through the journey. Accommodations were solid - we had a bed with a mosquito net each night. You could swim in the river at each camp which was refreshing after each hike.

Do note that this is not an easy hike. It's over 60 km over the 4 days, with well over 1500 meters of elevation. You want to be in hiking shape to do this trek. Be sure to bring quick dry clothes as you will soak everything you wear with sweat. Bring some playing cards or a small game to play with friends in the evenings.

My husband and I joined the 4 day, 3 night trek to Ciudad Perdida out of Santa Marta in July. Our group was about 12-16 people, from all over the world. It's several hours drive to get there, including a bumpy but gorgeous ride up into the mountains, and then a half day of hiking to first night's camp. Three full days of hiking up steep terrain and through forests thereafter. Spectacular views. We are older, but active hikers and we were able to manage the distance at our own pace. Summer 2023 was one of the hottest on record. Be prepared with water, sunscreen mosquito repellent and a hat. You can rent hiking poles if you don't have your own - very helpful. You spend the nights in mosquito-net covered bunk beds at a camp, happily alongside a river each night where you can swim to cool down after a hot day's hike. (Bring flip flops for your wet, tired feet at night!) The crew is amazing. They are very helpful, and keep you hydrated and well-fed, including fruit stops every two hours during the hot days. Our guide, Hernan, was incredibly knowledgable and passionate about the the Teyuna people and shared their history with us. The cost of the tour supports the indigenous people who live in the region. I found the visit to Ciudad Perdida itself quite moving. We arrived on a glorious, sunny morning and it's unfathomable how the Teyuna people could have found this remote place and built a thriving community there. Absolutely worth the trip, and I definitely recommend Teyuna Tours for their professionalism and knowledge and interesting conversations throughout.

Had an amazing time, Ernesto was really helpful when my knee locked and I was struggling to walk during certain stretches. Food was good, there was a lot of info and we were the first group to reach the lost city so had no one photobombing our pictures. Would recommend

What an amazing dive! I had the pleasure of diving with Xavier and he was just awesome! I hadn't dived in 5 years and he made me feel comfortable the entire time. The whole team worked efficiently, safely, and were fun to be with. The sites we dived were incredible! I wish I had time to do more dives with this team!

Last year my husband and I did about 20 dives with Leo and the team at Santa Marta Dive Center, including our advanced certification. We loved the small groups, attention to safety measures, well maintained/new equipment, and overall experience with the team. When we decided to do our Rescue certification this year there was no question that we had to do it with Leo. Another 14 dives and a new certification later, we are once again happy with our decision and already thinking about when we can come back to get certified as divemasters. If you are looking for a dive center to get certified or for fun dives in Santa Marta, look no further. Leo and the team are the BEST, no question about it.
