We completed the 5 day Ciudad Perdida Trek with our family of four, including two children age 5 and 9 years old. The service from Expotur was excellent, starting with the transport from and to the hotel, but also the communication before the trek. Our group of four had three dedicated guides: Jorge, the main guide, Samuel, the translator, and Cunga, the chef. The guides made our trip a great success. Delicious hot food three times per day, showing us the most beautiful places in the jungle, sharing a wealth of information about nature and culture, but above all, carrying our youngest child for miles across difficult terrain. The trek is very challenging, but our 9 year old daughter walked the full 57km distance (5500m total climb) and our 5 year old really enjoyed the adventure thanks to the loving care of our guides. The camps were great. There is WiFi everywhere for a small fee. The camp showers are cold but that is fine if you shower immediately when arriving at a camp hot and sweaty. Every camp has a shop where you can buy cold water bottles and beer. During the hikes, you get a break every 2km where the guides serve you fresh fruit. It makes the hikes easier to endure. The guides made the whole experience feel very luxurious. Meeting Mamo at Ciudad Perdida, the giant waterfall, the cable cart river crossings and swimming in the river are just some of the highlights of our trip.

Tayrona is the Latin America Hawaii. Beautiful beaches, rivers, waterfalls, and the forest is amazing.
We stay at Casa grande surf hostal near to the Tayrona Park entrance, very good location to go around everywhere.
The place is beautiful and the staff very nice. The food and drinks are delicious and have very affordable prices.
They offer relax and therapeutic massages, the best I have in my whole life.

Then we stay at Rodadero Santa Marta. Very nice beaches, great restaurants around the beach and in downtown. Wonderful city lo visit, and affordable.
We enjoy so much our visit to the Colombian Caribe.

This is a tubing journey of almost 1:30 hours through the rio Don Diego. Beautiful place to see monkeys, different type of birds and have fun enjoying the scenery of the jungle all the way to the ocean. Adolfo was our guide and was really kind, assisting our kids all the time and giving us all the information throughout the river. Amazing place and very well organized. I suggest you do the visit to Taironaka and start from there the tubing

Stretching a few kilometres from Buritaca village west towards Santa Marta this is an untouched stretch of beach. Practically nothing on it. Walking along it every few hundred metres you might will pass a small guest house which offers sun beds to rent, or has a bar or restaurant. Most will be closed except maybe at weekends, a few open. The beach isn't suitable for swimming, large waves and currents. So what is there to do? Relax and enjoy walking along an empty beach. This means it is not swept, it is not cleared of natural debris like broken palm trees washed up but there is actually very little plastic and other rubbish washed up. Just a quiet relaxing time after a few weeks of hectic travel around Ecuador and Colombia.

You have to eat the lobster caught and prepared by the beach keeper. It’s the best lobster i have ever had in my life and incredibly cheap and fresh.

It's the second time we've been there and we enjoyed it very much. Nice weather, large beach, great water, clear with a nice temperature, well preserved, clean. We stood under a tree shadow. We rent chairs to seat at 5000 pesos each. We also had lunch and a couple of drinks provides by locals. Each fish was 40000pesos, each drink 3000 for water at 5000 pesos for small beer or cola. The access sucks since the road has not been maintained so a jeep to get there is recommended if you go on your own, or by boat or bus from travel agency. Good place tho chill and close to playa cristal were you can get by boat if the playa cristal hasn't reach the maximum number os persons allowed. Recommended to go soon there to get best places.

Santa Marta it's a very wellcoming town, you can find a variety of restaurants and places to eat at. I felt very safe while I was stying there. People are very nice too, and just in general the culture there is very amusing. I loved the sunsets and the beach.

It was such a great experience to rent a 150cc motorbike at moto rent Santa Marta!

Keyla (the hostess)is amazing, she is such a lovely host and advisor as well. She knows what rental and working with tourist means and understands her job.

The motorbike was in good conditions and really useful in the mountains of minca.

I broke a a mirror, which I had to pay offcourse, but Keyla asked me first if nothing happend with me.
    Great service 👍🏻

I recently visited La Azotea with my girlfriend and was pleasantly surprised of how lovely, lively, and awesome the place is. The DJ was rocking the sounds and the ambience was top notch! It’s no wonder La Azotea was the place everyone recommended while we were in Santa Marta! The drinks were awesome and the dance floor was jamming!

An absolutely incredible experience! Everything about this trek was top notch. We did the 4 day hike which everyone in our group thought was the perfect amount of time. The trek is very well organized at every step of the way. Our guide Keysy and our translator Tyson were amazing. The food was delicious, with great vegetarian options. They keep you well fed all through the journey. Accommodations were solid - we had a bed with a mosquito net each night. You could swim in the river at each camp which was refreshing after each hike.

Do note that this is not an easy hike. It's over 60 km over the 4 days, with well over 1500 meters of elevation. You want to be in hiking shape to do this trek. Be sure to bring quick dry clothes as you will soak everything you wear with sweat. Bring some playing cards or a small game to play with friends in the evenings.
