It has a nice atmosphere during the afternoon and night. Lots of restaurants (with local and international food), cafés, and good places for ice cream and seafood. There are also several bars where you can dance or just have a drink. There are sometimes street musicians in the center of the park and its surroundings. It is a very cool place and it is very close to nice hostels.

Oldest city in Colombia they have made a good job of preserving the arquitectura and the personality. Nice to have a walk with lots of trees and nice restaurants

This is a great area to walk around in the evening. There are countless restaurants with great outdoor seating as well as an open air market. Well worth an evening stroll...

I took a picture here as a kid, on summer vacation. Went back as an adult & retook it. If you're a soccer (fútbol) fan, you'd understand how important El Pibe was to the Colombian national team. So much in fact, there was a soap opera (telenovela) made about his life, haha! It's just a statue, but there's a lot to learn about Colombian culture if you cared to research.

The square is a nice place in the area of malecon of Santa Marta. The statue is very imposant and around it, there are a lot of vendors.

The square is very large but there is not so much to see. There is almost everywhere a bad smell of urine.

There are quite a few statues of historical figures dotted on the beach front which add a bit of extra interest to the promenade.
