The trip was nice and the staff was very friendly. It's nice that Chips and water were included. English Was also not an issue.

Picked up at hotel. A little late. Taken with 4 others by driver in an acceptable van to Minca. Met with guide who spoke English and Spanish. The other 4 were from Spain and therefore Spanish speakers. Went to a small local family coffee farm. Tasting and shown how they make coffee and history of minca and indigenous group. Walked to waterfall and swam. Then onto a good lunch more than I could eat and then to a bar with amazing views and lastly a chocolate and cocoa experience. Great guide and a good day. Minca is a chill location. I didnt have time to stay but would highly recommend a couple of nights to be in village.

The tour takes a complete day and you will ended it up exhausted. If is a 4h drive back to Cartagena once it ends. They provide you with a breakfast (arepa de huevo) in Barranquilla and simple basic lunch at a local humble hotel in Santa Marta. No food allergies are taken into consideration just be mindful of it.

You get a brief visit to Barranquilla, where you can take photos with the city letters name and a couple of monuments.

Once in Santa Marta we got an amazing tour and information about their historic city, photos at the city letter name and visit their museum. Finally they take you to the beach which unfortunately is not quite planned nor explained, basically, you get there and have around 2.5 hours on your own.

The bus was comfortable and it had great AC on. On our way back we had issues with a flat tire which delayed the return for about 40 minutes.

The guides were informative and fun. We got to meet many people from several countries which is always nice.

If you only have one day, I would say to do it but if you want to know a little bit more about Barranquilla or stay longer in Santa Marta's beaches, you may need to look for another tour.

What an amazing day, the best I’ve had on the water in my life! The most gracious & knowledgeable hosts, an amazingly boat with everything you could need on it. Thierry & Esther went out of their way to ensure this day was memorable and we visited Tayrona national park the best way possible. Will be the first thing I’ll be booking on my next Colombian trip!

TL;DR: fantastic experience, amazing organisation, completely worth going in this season, challenging trek.

    - ORGANISATION: expotur has it really well structured. You can’t trek in the Ciudad Perdida without a guide, but it doesn’t mean that everything has to be stiff and expotur has a very gentle yet prepared way of leading the groups.
    - GUIDE: Our guide was very well organised and knew exactly the plan for each day and how to lead us, in a way that felt very smooth and natural - very appreciated!
It’s admirable how a guide who’s been doing this route so regularly for 20 years still shows the same passion for the place and puts energy to share it with us. We learned about the local culture, indigenous tribes, the nature surrounding us… thank you so very much Diego!! I really appreciated everything you taught us and how you made all the logistics easy for us
    - SIZE OF THE GROUP: we were 10, + guide + translator + cook. Great dynamic and synchronisation in the organisation
    - AMOUNT OF PEOPLE ON THE TREK: the winter season means that you have the advantage of having much less people in camps. Which is BIG win as it gives you space on the track and we were alone when visiting the ciudad Perdida itself. Also, big advantage when you have to share the showers. The amount was right for us but limited for the high season that can have up to 200 people in a camp.
    - FOOD: not only is the food really good and in BIG portions for breakfast lunch and dinner, but you also get fresh and delicious fruits along the day when taking a break along the way.
    - RESPECT OF THE ENVIRONMENT: I never saw anyone of the staff or groups doing anything that wouldn’t be respectful of the natural environment and its indigenous people
    - WEATHER: despite the season we had big sun every morning until roughly 3pm when the rain would start. Luckily this usually coincided with the end of the walk of the day

The private tour to the Tayrona Park was the best decision. Juan Polo was our tour guide and we were lucky to have him. He was funny, he knows a lot of. The history of the park, the nature, plants, animals , the Colombian culture, etc. he kept us going through tbd whole hike. We were able to spend a good amount of time in the main two beaches. The food was really good. Overall had an amazing time and will do it again and again. Our driver Hader was also a really nice person both Juan and Hader carry on with the conversation and we were able to learn things from Santa Marta and its surroundings.

I had a beautiful experience on this sunset sail whilst in Santa Marta. The experience was relaxing yet fun and the sunset was absolutely stunning. We had a gorgeous vantage point from the water! I enjoyed watching the city lights after the sunset as well. The crew were very friendly & accomodating and it was simply a lovely experience. I would do it again & recommend to anyone looking for a nice evening activity.
