- John F21 contributionsGreat attraction and free. Eerie sounds made by waves pushing air along man made chambers in sidewalk. Just sit and become absorbed by the haunting rhythms, dictated by the movement of the waves.Written 30 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Wayne4 contributionsIt's a lovely place to visit, better in the evening in my opinion and many nice places to eat, especially, EAT ME! (Name of restaurant). Lovely atmosphere, service is great, the food is delicious and everything cooked beautifully. If you like seafood try the Monkfish or the Octopus salad.....you can thank me later ;)
Just outside the perimeter of the old town walls you have Butlers Gourmet, which although slightly more expensive has also a great atmosphere and amazing food. The meat platter is the one to go for as a family, two different meat steaks, tuna steak, pasta, fries and baked potatoes. Two of everything and generous portion.
Now on to the thing that I didn't like and for me which is personal. We have a Chow-Chow dog, yes they are cute...all furry and look like a cross between a Lion and Bear, even cuter as puppies. They suffer in the heat, and in the evenings you may see the Gypsies making them wear sunglasses whilst they play music for your attention. Please do not support this by giving your money, it's animal cruelty.Written 23 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. On one end there is the university and small yacht port on the other side you'll find the sea organ 🎶Written 1 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The Rennaissance Five Well Square is surrounded by the medieval city wall and the Captain's Tower.
The supporting wall on the east is the entrance to the Queen Jelena Madije Park so be sure to take the steps up for another good spot in Zadar.Written 28 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tonči has been recommended to us by another skipper, who was booked out that day.
Tonči proposed to us, based on our interests, the time of the year and the weather, an individual trip.
The trip to the islands west of Zadar was an unforgettable experience on the water including snorkeling an old shipwreck, some cliff diving and sightseeing.
Thanks Tonči, for this great day!Written 8 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. She knew exactly where to take us and was so organized which took the worry out of our trip .we are so glad we had Terezija as we are sure to do this without a guide you would miss a lot of information .Written 6 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. From the start they were great: kind and helpful to my husband, who is on crutches.
We were 16 on the boat from a variety of nationalities and it was good to chat, and hear each other's stories, backgrounds etc. The journey to and from the islands is almost 2 hours, so we had time to get to know our fellow passengers. There was plenty of room on the boat for us all.
Breakfast was a decent-sized sandwich which was preceded with coffee and a welcome snifter of Slivovitz, for those that wanted. Fresh fruit and drinks were available all day.
Our three stops were all interesting in different ways. Great snorkeling at stop 1, interesting and pretty church, and short hike up to the fort at stop 2, and a lovely fish lunch at stop 3.
Beautiful scenery, good weather, great company and convivial hosts. Thank you, Annika and Ivan, and also to Lisa, Noemi, Susie, Jo, Arthur, Xavier et al, you were fab boat-mates!
I wholeheartedly recommend this trip.Written 25 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Sime (Simon)is a local and gave us a fantastic story and history of this fascinating and mainly beautiful place. From its Illyrian roots ,the Roman remains and through history to the scars of WW2 and recent war in 1991 and the impact of this on Zadar and its architecture. You get the feeling that Old Zadar is for the locals, lived in by the locals and has not sold its soul like other Adriatic cities. There are brutalist buildings stood next to Roman remains but you have an understanding why this is but this is the beauty of Zadar today.Written 13 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
