I joined a one-day local tour from Sophia to Skopje. Had 4 hours in Skopje city centre including a walk here. Although it cannot be compared with other bazaars like those in Turkey or Tunis in terms of scale and variety of things to see, I find this bazaar worth a visit still. Found a local eatery for quick lunch. I felt safe too in this city.

This bridge is very symbolic in Skopje and is made up of very large breeze block type stone with numerous arches underneath that spread across the river. It lights up at night giving off a yellowish colour to the bridge but as the bridge of art or the eye bridge, there's nothing on it. It's a wonderful sight nevertheless. Just in front of it on top of the river flow is a small quaint statue of a diver along with the feet of another pertruding from the water as if they had just dived in

Before arriving in North Macedonia I didn’t even know they made wines, but I certainly do now. Had a lovely time at the wine tasting where the owners told us about the manufacturing process before we tried six different wines. My main problem was to decide which one to buy and bring home, because they were all really good. It was also a good thing we didn’t have lunch before, because we got a tray full of ham, salami, cheese and bread during the tasting. For logistics: we got a taxi one-way for 360 MKD. Some other people who were there at the same time took the bus so that is also an option. All in all: would thoroughly recommend.

The mountains on the border between North Macedonia and Kosovo were beautiful. The small ski destination Popova Shapka was a good starting point. Easy to park. Cheap hotels of good standard. Beware of the showers in the summer.

Absolutely gorgeous natural wonder with stunning views and affordable boat trips. The canyon and the lake are an eye candy and a photographer's delight. Just a 20 min car ride from center of Skopje. Absolute must to visit even outside of warm seasons!

Visited on a Sunday via the free number 25 bus from Skopje. The drive up the mountain was enjoyable with windy road. As a solo traveller I ended up joining a group of other solo travellers to get the cable car to the top. It had some odd hours as we had to wait half an hour for it to reopen in the afternoon. At the base of the cross there is a nice view of the surroundings. There was a small shop for drinks/ice creams.

This is a quaint little church set in the village of Nerezi around 50 minutes drive outside of Skopje. It looks unused inside for masses due to it's size and has no pews or altar. The walls are adorned with fading frescos and there's a lovely central arch. Outside the church looks resplendent with it's terracotta coloured brickwork with many differing shapes and sizes making up it's small steeples and dome. It's set in a well kept little garden which has a veranda at the back giving lovely views of the city centre

This is a unique place that you must visit when you are visiting Skopje. The wines are out of this world, the hosts are outstanding (both Toni and Irena), the experience is unforgettable. We were there with our friends, on a Sunday night, and after getting a tour of this boutique winery and finding out about Toni's approach to wine making, we had a tasting of many whites and reds, in a private setup, Some cold cuts and cheese selection (some of which were produced by Toni), we went on a wine testing journey that we will never forget for the rest of our lives. One outstanding wine after another! Toni prepares meals too, so we can't wait for our next trip to Macedonia, and for visiting the Brzanov winery for a meal and wine. Toni, keep up the good work, and stay passionate about what you do!

This memorial house was interesting to visit.
There are many photos showing the life of Mother Theresa and what an interesting life she had.
    Well worth a visit.
